? about if I get disablity

 hi guys,

 does anyone happen to know, if you apply for short term or disablility

cause u cant work but intend to get better,

but have savings,  are you allowed to keep your savings? keep extra money?

( ex, I will spend it on treatment out of pocket)

ex go to hansa, or another treatment center, use those funds for hotel, airfare

Hey there! There are a couple of folks on here that are on disability. But no they don't check your checking or savings

I'm contemplating on what to do for myself as well. Not having a good time over here :-( feel better!

I was able to get STD without any problem at all. They did not check anything like you are talking about. My main dx my LLMD put was arthropod borne disease, marked joint pain, marked muscle pain, and cognitive slowing. I am sure each company has there own forms but he has to fill out an update periodically. I have been on STD since September and was just approved for LTD this week. I am very thankful because I figured I would be turned down on the front end. I have lots of problem with memory, multi tasking, etc.. so he referred me to a psychologist to back up my issues. He said this would help with any problems LTD may give us. Hope this helps!! They just ask you if you are receiving any $ from social security, retirement, etc..

 

Lymer, it's likely Long term disability. Be sure to check with the state that you live in for State-funded temporary disability too.
