Activated charcoal, milk thistle, coconut oil brands?

Anyone have any recommendations on these? Is the brand important here or all they all the same?

I'm on a tight budget and I've found some cheap brands on amazon, but don't want to waste money on things that won't work!

its all a waste of money! well except anything thats good for you is a plus.
I havnt realy found any of these things to be bad. I would say they are a very small part of the puzzle, so spend a very small amount on them.
I dont skimp on vitamins, greens, ect.

I'm sure you will get many responses to this!! Some are pretty insistent on getting only the absolute best. I'm on a tight budget as well though and figure to a point, any is better than none!

Watch the milk thistle, it can create very bad herxes. Someone suggested that if you are allergic to ragweed, you can't take milk thistle - I don't know if this is true, but it fits for me....I have a terrible allergy to ragweed!!

More than anything else, use well known companies so that you get a good product.

As for the coconut oil, it is important that you get one that is cold-pressed, virgin, & unrefined. I use the "NOW" brand (I have absolutely no connection with this company nor do I receive any compensation from them for anything.) and have had good results.

If you can take milk thistle...Paradise Herbs brand has no fillers. I buy vitacost's organic raw coconut oil. 54 ounces for 20 bucks is best deal I have found.

FYI - my herbalist said she has literally treated thousands of patients with milk thistle and not had a problem. I was worried because I thought I was allergic to ragweed but have since taken milk thistle and not had a problem. You can get it cheap at mountainroseherbs.com

Thanks for explaining that Opugirl!! Since I can't take milk thistle and have a rag weed allergy, I wasn't sure if that really worked that way or not!

I thought so but now I am not sure. I just know that when the ragweed is high, my eyes make me look like I'm high and very sneezy :)

I also read..MIlk thistle takes care of liver problems..and allergies can come from liver. Himalaya HealthCare Liver is good. Think i'll buy that one next..no MT

kds. That is what I am taking now. And bonus it doesn't have milk thistle, that is why I went with it in the first place. lots of other good herbs in it though!

samjones will do! My LLMD said to be careful to take it 2 hours before or after any other meds, supplements etc b/c it binds to everything.

You probably already know that, just throwing it out there :)

Thanks everyone! I've actually tried milk thistle before, no issues with it. I'm just hoping to find something I take once a day and not 3 times a day...I can't keep up with all that!! :)

TOM- sounds like something my LLMD would say. There are many pieces to the puzzle that treats this disease, that's for sure!!

Thanks everyone. Still working on the coconut oil. I found a brand that said "virgin & unrefined" but couldn't find "cold-pressed" so I decided to wait. It was $13 so I didn't want to waste money on the wrong kind! How does everyone use it? Just for cooking? For some reason I thought it was for your skin...lol is that crazy???

I have so much to learn!
