Last year I nearly died from Lyme complications. I spiked a 104.5 to 105 degree fever, fluid filled my lungs and began to surround my heart. My MD in Florida thought I was a goner. I refused to go to the ER because they wouldn't help me and I knew it.
Well, I guess I was lucky because I just happened to be doing some marketing work for a company who trains doctors in something called Nutrition Response Testing (I HIGHLY recommend everyone go to www.unsinc.info and find a doctor near you) and when the doctor who owns the company heard what was happening he sent someone to my house to help me. They saved my life and have brought my health back in many ways. The individualized program I was put on rebuilt my strength and is helping me to heal. The only problems I am having at this time are with the arthritis.
Unfortunately, though, the inflammation from the Lyme arthritis is beginning to choke off the flow of cerebral spinal fluid from by brain down my spine and it is creating all sort of little life threatening problems. I feel like the body is finally healthy enough to try a PICC line, which is the only way to get the antibiotics to cross the blood/brain barrier. However, I need a doctor in Long Island (I live in FL but am in LI right now for family) who is willing to help get the line in and the antibiotics started. My MD will keep things going when I get back to FL if I don't finish before I leave. I also need this person not to charge a TON of money. The last doctor I saw just north of the city charged $600 just to talk to me. That to me is a disgusting abuse of desperate patients. If anyone knows of an LLMD on LI who will do this, please let me know. I can also go into NYC if need be, but the only Doc I know of there is also taking advantage and charging ridiculous fees.
Thanks!
