Coffee enemas - sometimes trembling

Hi all,

I've noticed that I had this several times. A few minutes after a coffee enema I start trembling (like trembling because of a shock or because of feeling extremely cold), it only lasts 2 to 3 minutes. My heart doesn't race, so I don't think it's from the cafeine. Can it be a detoxing reaction?

Right after I do them (after the shower) I drink pure organic coconut juice (elektrolytes).

I did the enema;s and had some terrible side effects and I was told by my Dr. NOT to do coffee enemas.

There are dangers of a caffeine overdose. Coffee enemas can cause excess amounts of caffeine to enter the blood stream. This can cause the normal signs of a caffeine overdose: fever, breathing trouble, confusion, hallucinations, increased thirst, sleeping trouble, increased urination, vomiting, dizziness, irregular heartbeat and muscle twitching.

Coffee enemas can cause numerous side effects, including infections, sepsis (including campylobacter sepsis), severe electrolyte imbalance, colitis, polymicrobial enteric septicemia, proctocolitis, salmonella brain abscess and heart failure. If the coffee is inserted too quickly or is too hot, it could cause internal burning or rectal perforation. Long term use of coffee enemas can lead to malabsorption of fat, fat-soluble vitamins, and calcium.

The use of coffee enemas has led to several deaths as a result of severe electrolyte imbalance, hyponatremia, dehydration, pleural and pericardial effusions.

Nobody has died from electrolyte imbalance caused by 1 coffee enema, unless there was already a severe electrolyte imbalance. If a an occasional coffee enema causes the severe problems being mentioned here, then, by all means don't do them as that is a symptom of a deeper issue. Somebody's physician has already dropped the ball, in my opinion. Also, if the person is sensitive to caffeine, then it would be foolish to do a coffee enema. Once again, common sense rules here. Start off slowly. Retain the enema contents for only a very short time to start off. Then slowly increase the amount of time for retension of the enema contents when doing future enemas. There is no doubt that a very toxic person could potentially have a very bad experience if the enema is carelessly applied. If we are talking about bowel perforation and septocemia, then there is a lot more going on then a gently applied coffee enema!

Anytime that a person detoxes, there ought to be an accompanying electrolyte/mineral supplementation program. The Hansa Center has water at their clinic that has been fortified with electrolytes available to their patients. Their patients are encouraged to drink it. We have purchased gallon quantities of a concentrated electrolyte product that Heather used in her water at home.

Prayingforamiracle- could you provide a link to the article that describes those problems with coffee enemas? I am not saying that those problems do not potentially exist. I am just interested as to the source of that information.
