Now that I've tested positive for Lyme, what happens? What does treatment look like/ where do I start with treatment?

Are you seeing a LLMD or LLND?

He/She will probably start you on doxy and maybe combine it with another antibiotic depending on if they seem to think you have co-infections which almost all do.

Just make sure it's at least 300mg. daily because anything less will not kill off the little buggers. I'm currently on 400mg. combined with 600 mg. of Rifampin to treat a probable Bart infection. I think that's a good combo to start with as most have Bartonella as a co-infection.

Yeah, I probably have bartonella co-infection as I have those scars running up and down my thighs. I have yet to go back to see him, my test results, and his comments on them, were just posted on the patient portal where I can access all my medical information. What has your experience with doxy been like? I was on it for two weeks prior to Igenex testing (to help eliminate false-negatives) and it wasn't the best, a lot of nausea as I'm sure you know.

The first time I took doxy at 300mg. I wasn't nauseous at all but had bad back pain. Now at 400mg. no back pain but woke up very queasy so my LLMD had me switch to the tabs. He claims they are more easily tolerated. Too early to tell as I took a break and I'm now slowly ramping back up.

I did herx on it a bit as it intensified chills and this malaise feeling I get but nothing so terrible.

The Rifampin is a piece of cake once you get over the bright orange urine shock which takes a few days. I am experiencing rashes and little itchy bumps on my stomach, arms and back but don't have a clue if they're from Bart.
