What led some of you to get metal toxicity tests?

I was wondering why heavy metal was suspected and what all is involved in getting a diagnosis. Is it a lab draw? Could I just ask my PCP. I have noticed there are quite a few people with that listed.

I guess I am still in search of answers, since I was just diagnosed a few months back. I know my labs showed a few bands and my LLMD said irrefutable Lyme, but I still feel like I'm missing something, ya know?!?!?

I had a test done for metals, and toxins. My numbers were extremely high, I also did read that if you were exposed to chemicals, and mold, it can make it far more difficult for us to heal. So I got checked.

My doctor said, I need to detox, and detox some more, so I have been working on it.

For this test, I got ZnDTPA + DMPS injected (heavy metals chelators) - I had to collect my urine for it.
The results were extremely high for mercury, copper, manganese, cadmium, lead, nickel and tin. I was shocked by the figures.
I considered it well, before doing the test, cause taking chelators has risks, but I haven't regretted it.

Thanks for your responses. What risk(s) did they mention?

I used to help flip houses, so I know I have had exposure. I was just hoping it would be a blood draw.

Maria- what did your doc put you on? That is so scary!
