My back...

No, my back freezes up so bad I cannot move! My doctor told me he thought it was bc I was in a high EBV flare up on top of the Lyme. My back and shoulders are so bad right now. I actually just booked a 2 hr massage for tomorrow bc I can barely move without get a cramp so severe that I am stuck in that position. It's not like those little muscle cramps.

I would love some input too....

Marie- I am up again at 5am bc of my back! My husband doesn't understand why I booked my massage, the first thing he said is, "Won't you be in tremendous pain? Remember last time?"
Well, if I don't go have the knots rubbed out (as much as it hurts-particularly the days that follow) then they will just continue to grow larger. I have one that is almost permenant.

I get the knots where my shoulder blades are. And I cannot bend my head forward right now bc my muscles are so tight down my neck/spine that they "freeze up."

My LLMD was also running 4 hours behind- it was 6pm and he still had 3 other patients....so, he was getting frusterated with my questions. I'm just still trying to figure all of this out myself. But my muscle that freezes up is the muscle that runs along side the rib cage (from below breast) and attaches to the spine (if i remember correctly) anyhow it is in that general area. I feel it in the mid-section of my back, towards the bottom and I cannot get it to go away. He said that is the muscle affected by EBV, ESP when the spleen is enlarged and also my Fibromyalsia. However, I am beginning to wonder if it's all not alphabet soup.

Anyhow Marie, go buy a TENS unit. It is the only thing I can do at home that gives me any relief. I also try the baths, cream, oils, etc.

That is the exact same spot mine are in. Except the one that usually flares up is on my right. But now my left is extremely flared and I can feel the knotS burning on both sides every time I move!

Yes, it is. I bought it from my chiropracters office. It was only around $100 and money well spent! Very easy to use yourself!

Yes, I feel the same in the morning. I have to get up a good 2 hours before my kids so I can have it in me to pick them up, change diapers, dress them, etc.

I only drink water, maybe a seltzer water perdically. I start the day with a cold gallon by my recliner, and finish it by night fall. I will go through 2-3 cups of water just driving. I have to have something to drink constantly or I lose my voice! Weird new symptom I've added to my list....but I have had to have something to drink constantly for years!

Oh yeah, I do have coffee in the mornings to function!

What's that? Media and chronic Lyme together? Know nothing about that connection...

There's so less known over here, it's so frustrating...

Most of the people never heard of it. There are warning signs in the cabinets of GP's, with instructions on how to remove a tick, and a warning about the danger of ticks. But chronic Lyme???

Some people know that Lyme is serious, and know that a chronic illness is hard or impossible to get entirely rid off. Some make that connection.

I don't know about government doing anything...

There's a government agency for families and children, and the instructions on Lyme Disease on their website are literally the following:

Preventive antibiotics after a bite don't do anything and are therefor not necessary.

Generally speaking, going to a dr after a tick bite is not necessary, the only thing you need to do is a follow up on the evolution of the skin where you were bitten.

It is advised to see a doctor if:

you can't remove the tick yourself

if a ring like spot is being formed around the bite that is getting larger

if you develop facial paralysis, joint pains and/or fever
