HANSA......realy?

  after reading my face off (or so to speak) it looks like if you go to HANSA center, you feel better. and if you dont, you dont.

 maybe it should be in the "new to lyme" post as a must do!

 since Ive spent thousands on nothing, I feel the need to keep spending.

 Ive done IVs, doxy, cats claw...oh you know the list, you've all seen it.

 Ive had some improvements, and some set backs. but for the most part not well at all.

 Id like to know if anyone wishes they didnt go there.

 anything negative except the cost?

 will they take my first born as a down payment?

They do have a credit company that they work with that offers no/very low financing for a brief period of time.

LOL @ bbrian - aren't you just a firecracker today. The Hansa Center has no affiliation with the credit agency at all. My eye doctor uses the same one over 1,000 miles away. I have said this before - I don't know the costs of other people's health care but 10k for 9-5 treatments for two weeks (personally) is affordable. You could spend almost that much to get spa treatments everyday.

I don't mean that it is affordable for everyone of course (me included) BUT if you went from doctors 9-5 everyday for two weeks you would have probably racked up well over 30k and beyond. In comparison, affordable.

There are a lot of other options that are similar to the HANSA center for everyone to look at. It just takes a LOT of digging and for me...a 6-hour drive!!! You can see the bio-energetic testing post I just put up. It is not the bio-resonance that Jernigan uses but similar beliefs about circuits in the body and stress on different systems. Instead of Jernigan nutraceuticals I am using homeopathic blends to remedy imbalances to restore those systems (not cover up symptoms).

I inquired about alternative treatments from the ND and she thought that with all of my detox organs and digestive systems being in balance and good working order that I should not need additional therapies at this point. My cost.....$500 for 1 hour consult including 9 bottles of homepathic remedies which some will last me 1 month, others a few months...+ about $60 in gas.It is expected that on the next go around I will not need nearly this many homeopathics.

$275 was for initial consult

$225 for homeopathics

Next visit is $150 for doing the follow up bioenergy

Keep looking guys. It might take awhile and you might have to try different things....

Bbrian, opugirl is right about the credit company. It's called Care Credit and plastic surgeons offer it as well.
It's just a credit card you use for health care expenses--nothing more.

I know it can get frustrating when you don't feel well and it seems like everyone seems to talking up one thing and if you don't have the funds or access to it, well it can make you feel worse. I used to get my feathers ruffled when I used to hear of one poster on here talking about the clinic she went to for 3 mos. costing 30K+. Obviously, if time and money weren't an issue many of us would be well!!

However, I've read Dr. Jernigan's book. I've also done a little comparison shopping. For all the time you spend there and how comprehensive his treatments are, I would say it's worth it. There is another Dr. in Florida that could probably be considered the premier expert in Bartonella. He spends his life studying this disease. He's about $3K cheaper than the Hansa center. But in the end, I feel like Dr. J and team are going to treat more than just the Bartonella, that is why I'm choosing to go there instead. Dr. J also has an at home protocol that people have been very successful using without ever having stepped foot in his clinic! Is that a possibility for you?

I think you do have something there. I have not had seasonal allergies at all for about a year...since the lyme took over. I guess my overactive immune system finally had the burden of having to fight something else so away went my allergies!

A lot of people make multiple visits to Hansa - I think even most. They give you a protocol of what to do at home to continue treatment and supplements etc and generally do a follow up...no cure in two weeks - come on..can't a girl dream Brian??? turn LOL

LOL everyone!  Seriously now, I don't think everyone is meant to go to Hansa or Oz, whatever you want to call it.

Dr. J. works very differently compared to your average doctor and I think if a person doesn't take the time to read his book (Beating Lyme Disease, 2nd edition), then a person is not going to understand Dr. J's treatments and go there not understanding anything.  That said, I think a person is simply wasting their money and time.

I never went to Hansa, though one day I would like to go (not for lyme as I am cured of that, but to find out what I am missing to achieve optimal health), perhaps my hormones are not functioning right due to menopause, etc.

The Hansa center and protocol is not for me, but I'm glad that some seem to find it helpful. I definitely DO think that you can achieve remission without the Hansa center.

I also don't think you necessarily need a top Lyme doctor that doesn't take insurance either. I think the most important thing is to research everything you can about Lyme and co-infection protocols and make medical decisions primarily for yourself. Then find a doctor that shares your line of thought to help you implement those decisions.

bbrian and Tom: I feel I need to clear up some misunderstandings..


1. Ummmm of course you don't need Hansa to get well! (isn't this kind of obvious :) :) sorry..but can't help a little friendly wake-up poke ;)

I mean...we (I) even started a list on this site of all the folks people knew about that got better/well and what they did. Folks did many different things, including abx. ,You can google Perry Fields for her story as another example..she did it on her own after 7 years of illness.

2. Hansa does not claim to get people well in two weeks! This is on their welcome packet....you expect to go home with a protocol and probably come back.

I have gone back, as I have posted. Others have, too, and they posted about it.

It is repeated throughout the book that you need to be persistent and change your life and keep up the treatments in order to get well.

3. (with some humor here...)..Dude(s)!..get your info straight before assessing (condemning), please! It is not really helpful and can cause confusion.

If you want to go to Hansa..read the stuff and make a decision.

If you don't, that's great. You can certainly get well by other means.
