I hate spring!!!

I'm so, so tired of this crud.  Every April is torture for me.  My gut is trying to call it quits again!  mad

I was really, really hoping Lyme treatment would stop this from happening.

What infection(s) can cause flares every Spring???

Razzle, could it be seasonal allergies doing a number on your immune system?? Just a thought.

Hope you get some relief soon. Hang in there.

Hi Razzle,

Early spring is just rotten for me, too! I have been concentrating on supporting my immune system the last few weeks and I am starting to see some relief. Sleep, lots and lots of vegetables, laughter, gentle exercise. and detoxing... If only this New England weather could get more consistent :) I miss the sun!

Don't you think this may have something to do with your histamine intolerance?

Some people that have problems with histamine can experience more problems during springtime because of the high concentration of pollen in the air. You can become more sensitive to food that releases histamine, so you won't be able to control it like you're used to.

I have this going on right now, my bowels are very 'unstable' since 2 weeks. I returned to my core diet, and I will be doing this for the next 2 months. Did you give that diet a try (I know it's extremely hard, but it's worth it)? Histamine stimulates the smooth muscle tissue, this provokes increase of mobility of the intestines and can cause periods of sudden diarrhea. Histamine can also stimulate the secretion of gastric acid and therefor cause stomach pains.

This is just a thought and something I experience myself.

I had the worst spring allergies. Sneezing, swollen eyes etc...I was told to buy 'Raw unfiltered honey from a local bee keeper' and take a tablespoon each day. It didn't help the 1st spring i started it but now I don't suffer like I did, I continue to take it each day. IT MUST be from a bee keeper in your area so the the bees are eating the allergens in your area! DO NOT buy the stuff in the grocery stores. My husband just started this too because as he's gotten older his allergies seem to be worse. :)

Thanks guys. Got some Zofran (anti-nausea med) and that has enabled me to eat a tiny bit tonight finally.

Wish I could do honey...but I react to the pollen remnants in it or something... When I get a sore throat, everyone gets better from a spoonful of honey, but my throat usually gets worse from it :( The only honey I've ever been able to tolerate in small amounts is Tupelo honey...but it is too expensive.

I think Marie is onto something with the histamine stuff. I had cut way down on my regular allergy medicine because I was getting side-effects and just didn't seem to need as much, but I guess I cut back too much...
