Does anyone have a scar from their intitial tick bite.

I was just curious if anyone has a scar from their tick bite. when i got my bite it was 2inches in diameter and looked more like a bullet wound than a tick bite(never saw the tick). Since it has healed i have an indented scar dead center on my back that has no feeling it it all. Just wondering if anyone else has the same?

Are you certain this was a tick bite? This sounds almost identical to the poisonous brown recluse spider bite I had long ago.

What part of the country are you in?

I have a scar from the bite indentation. Never saw the tick, and never had an EM rash, but definitely had a substantial bite that has left a scar and a very sick person!

Our old farm house had recluses. Can you get lyme from a recluse? I live in a Kansas town of 235 people. When I had my bite the inner circle turned black. I started having the Lyme symptom 3 weeks after the bite.

I couldnt find anything on the Internet indicating you can get Lyme from a brown recluse so I doubt it.

The classic bulleye rash can be seen in both bites. Being bitten by both ******s, I can confirm this.

The biggest noticeable difference between the two bites is the recluse poison will form a puss-filled hole in your body. This may look like a scar, but is actually dead tissue. This hole can turn white or even black. For me this hole grew to the size of a quarter and damaged my shin bone. I could also feel the poison climb through my body like a burning sensation. A different feeling than the tick bite.

Yep, Ive just about had it with insects.

I also was bit by a tick 6 months ago. One morning I woke up and that black sucker was sucking my blood on my breast. I could not believe it. I then got a ring like described with lime disease. As the signs of lime disease were there, I immediately took herbs, as I did not have access to antibiotics. However, I read up on it online, and it seemed that herbs work better, so that you won't get lime disease. So among other things I took Artemisia and Neem- a total must when you have reason to think that the thick was infected.

Never got any issues after that, I'm sure I'm fine.

However, like one person here said, there is a scar-never went completely away-same thing here. I treat it with Vitamin E oil and Castor oil, but only out of desparation, as there is nothing else. Did it help so far? not sure, but it can't hurt eyes tongue

 My son identified the tic on the back of my knee. He was only 7 years old!! He wasn't even looking closely and announces "its a tic!" At first I thought he was kidding, I asked him how did he even know what a tic looked like?? He explained while he would wait in the nurse's office he studied the lyme disease poster. I removed the tic when I went to the doctor I had the EM rash but didn't tell the doctor about the tic, I wanted to see what he would say. Of course he thought it was a spider bite then I "blew his mind" and told him I removed the tic already. 

Anyway I do have a pretty big scar it also looks like a bullet wound.

I spend a lot of time in the woods in a Lyme hotspot, and I pick up a lot of deer ticks. I once had 10 bites in a single day. As time goes on, I think I'm more likely to get scars from tick bites. The bite that gave me the bullseye rash is one that left me with a scar. They look like small red burn marks. I got that tick off, alive and with mouthparts intact, well within 12 hours, so I don't buy that they need to be attached for 24 to transmit Lyme.

Yup - never got a rash, but I have a scar - and that's how I was sure it was Lyme Disease. I thought it was a pimple back when I saw the "bite" - but you don't get scars from pimples! Mine was not 2 inches in diameter though?! It was tiny, but it will always be there!

My tick bite scars are freckle/pimple sized. The largest one is on the back of my thigh when I must have scratched it off in my sleep and left the mouthparts in. It got mildly infected but never too bad. I found the dessicated but partially engorged tick body in my bed the next day. The scar from that is no bigger than the size of a match head. All the tick bites I've had have been accompanied by extreme but intermittent itchiness that often lasts for months. The ones that have scarred seemed to stay itchy longer.

I have a scar from the one that got a bullseye rash! My son has 2 scars from ticks. They look like indents.

thats called post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so its basically a permanent reminder of the tick, i had the same thing for a bout of shingles.

Ok so thit is probably a brown recluse bite?!?!?! I don't have a scar where I got ticked a few years back. I was at that time, living in Missouri. Thanks for this great site.I will be back.oh, I'm. in Nebraska now.

The thread that you posted on is a little over a year old, so I don't know if those people are still around.

If you think you have lyme, what are your symptoms?
