Lyme77,
Welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear that you are sick again. This forum exists to serve as a source of encouragement and support for you. There are many people here with a wealth of experience and knowledge, and are anxious to help you. Please make yourself at home.
Yes, it is very possible to get sick with Lyme again, as the body does not develop an acquired immunity to the disease. You could be experiencing a relapse from existing bacteria in your body, or you could be experiencing a reinfection.
Although you are not new to Lyme Disease, you may not be familiar with some of the information that is available recently. I would encourage you to take a look at the thread entitled "New to Lyme....Start Here?" it has a lot of information that is good to know for anyone with this illness. Please pay particular attention to the section on detoxification. The microbes create a lot of metabolic toxins, and even more so as a result of die-off. These toxins are a major source of the symptoms that you are experiencing.
There are several ways of approach to deal with the illness. Are you committed to the conventional Antibiotic approach that you used before? If so, then I would encourage someone from the Mass. area to chime in and offer suggestions as to LLMD's in the area. Please be sure that your email is listed on your HealingWell account, as we cannot give full doctor's names publicly, so as to protect them.
There are other ways of treatment that would fall under the broad category of "alternative". These other methods can be used alone or in combination with conventional ABX. The choice is yours, but I just wanted you to be aware that there are other options that are quite effective.
Again, welcome to our community!
