Hope someone can help me out. I tested for Lyme by labcorp western blot and showed band igg band 58 and 41 present. And on the babesia test it showed igm negative but igg high . I got the call yesterday I tested positive for babesia and needed to schedule an appt for treatment. I went today and doctor was off saw someone else who told me that meant past infection for babesia and I needed further testing. She ordered the igenex test and basically said I needed to wait. I believe I have had this for 9 years now and pretty sure it's lyme as all my symptoms point toward it. Does anyone have any info to share on this?

With Lyme and coinfections, it really doesn't matter if you're IgM or IgG positive. Both mean you're positive when you have symptoms. I'm not sure why Dr's can't put two and two together.

Testing for Babesia is not very accurate as there are many false negatives. The best test is the FISH test from IGenex or maybe the Fry Labs blood smear but those are still not 100% and will miss active infections. Sorry you have to wait but I guess it's up to the doc. The good thing is that IGenex has a much better Western blot for Lyme than Labcorp so you might show positive with them.

you should just start treating the lyme and the babesia. i never got a pos babs test but i treateed with mepron anyways and thats what finally started giving me results with my agonizing constant migraines.
