MS and Lymes?

Jupiter, I have read some of her writings on Lyme. This is an interesting article. I was talking to Toby the other day about Big Pharma and research groups such as the ALS Foundation. I mentioned how I am not interested in supporting these types of foundations because I feel they are out there to make money and not really interested in finding a cure. If a cure is found for any of these diseases , there goes the money making machine. Big Pharma would rather support research for treating symptoms so they can continue to always make money off these drugs. It makes sense to me. It is really not about helping people, it is about making money.

Andy, can't believe I didn't see this post til now. I completely understand and sympathize with what you are saying. .

I was dxn with MS in 2009, then 3 1/2 months ago positive for Lyme. I just started antibiotics and am having what I assume to be a giant herx. But as I sit here, my mind wanders to the what ifs, what if it is really MS and should I be treating that instead?

It's hard to explain to all the people who say which one is it, Lyme or MS? and yes, the ones who don't believe, the ones who say you should really see your neurologist again, not to mention the ones who think "well if its Lyme, why don't you just take antibiotics?" there is no understanding on either side of the wall.

Neither disease is 'fun' or a 'simple' fix that's for sure, compounded even more by family, friends, and others who don't understand what we are going through and offer their advice or two cents.

I am trying to stick with the - I know what's best for my body, and I am in charge of my health plan- attitude, and I am treating for Lyme . Note I said trying, lol.. it is hard. If you ever need a sympathetic ear, I am here to chat, shoot me an email. Good luck to you

I think the herx reaction from abx or whatever treatment you're taking is proof positive you're battling an infection and not some mysterious autoimmune disease that's caused by what? A faulty gene maybe?

This is not correct. You can have a herx just if the body is too toxic. No illness necessary

When you have the time, please read the article I hyper-linked in my last post as well as the one by Trav above. Cat53 summed it up very well. The bottom line is there is no money to be made in a cure.

Hi Andy, i dont having a good day, btw i dont believe in docs... i think most of us have get some healing coz of our research and being brave to take the treatment.

I will try to be short

Docs want to say i have autoinmune disease, had two years without going to doc, a friend convinced me and he was going to pay, also is hard coz i am not feeling well.

Again, you have MS, i have 2 ELISA test for borrelia, he ignored them, but said dont worry about bartonella it is negative, then said everyone has bartonella.

I decided my self to take doxy 400mg a day for 10 month, on 7th month flagyl 25 days together with doxy, was my decition.

Last doc said i almost kill my self, bla bla bla, i had no option, was desesperated. HE says doxy is a moderatod of inmune system.

I dont believe them, thats all, glad i could take the ris to automadicate my self.

Someday the human being will know the truth behind this, how dirty.

Thank you Trav! I was feeling low last night and your comment helped pick me up. Sarah Vaughter has Lyme Neuroborreliosis so she can also speak from experience. Her straightforward approach is refreshing.

Yes...I think it's called a dermaroller. It's some kind of device for the skin. I believe she lives in Switzerland.
