Advice on treatment please

My daughter has been tested positive for lyme but we live in New Zealand and we have no LLMD as we don't have lyme in NZ. We are being referred to an Infectious disease specialist here but not sure if they will have enough experience to help us.

I would love someone to let me know what we can do to treat her eg. antibiotics that she should be put on and what to do about Herxing.

I am at a total loss to know what to do and are hoping that people here will be able to advised me.

I strongly disagree with your suggestion and so would most of the members on this forum. According to the experiences of the members on this forum ID doctors are the most ignorant docs that a person could go to to for LD and coinfections. They certainly have not "done all the studying"! Where in the world did you get that information? Do you live in the U.S.? Your odds with an ID doc are worse than playing Russian Roulette.

lol! my infectious disease doc still tells me i dont have lyme and its IMPOSSIBLE that i have babesia... i had to order my own wester blot, he wouldnt look at my positive elisa, he didnt care about my cd57 being 36... but he DID let me have a PICC line....
he was asking if i had any other conditions that i would need antiiotics for so he wouldnt have to write "lyme disease" on the RX order... he was upset that he had to and said, "this is gonna raise some red flags"...
btw, the first ID doc said i dont have lyme unless my "knees look like apples" and if so, he would rx 10 days of doxy.
if your doc is willing to listen and take advice like my general doc, then you can find some good protocols. detox is good. epsom salt baths, lemon water, low carb/sugar diet and light exercise. a good LLMD told me that sleep and diet are just as important as the meds.
lymemd.blogspot is a good blog written by a good doc, he uses the same protocols as the LLMD reccomended.
im in hawaii so i know what its like to not have a single LLMD anywhere near me, there are none on the islands at all.

Dont get me started with infectious disease doctors, at least not in the US.

The first three IDs I went to refused to admit Lyme could be persistent and they refused to continue to treat me with any more than three weeks of therapy. I had TWO strong debilitating relapses with fully positive Igenex tests and yet they still wouldnt follow-up treat me.

So plentiful and positive were my Igenex test results that my NPR said "I have never seen so many fully positive bands before". Im almost considering a lawsuit against these IDs, using my lab results as evidence.

Long before I read about the Lyme controversy, I knew something stank to high hell.

Whats funny about all of this is my cat got more than 3 weeks of antibiotics when he was simply suspected of a tick bite.
