Air Hunger getting worse with Bart treatment. Should I stop?

Hi out there...I'm getting worried. Started a Bart herbal tincture that my herbalist suggested and my air hunger hasn't been this bad in months. Should I stop? I hate this feeling. Sigh...

Does it mean that its working when your symptoms are magnified like this? I also have a sore throat, some strange neuro stuff and twitches.

Trav what is that tea you suggested? I need relief from this nasty coinfection :-( cry

This is probably a herxheimer reaction. Bacterial die-off releases toxins which result in an increase in symptoms. Try to detox as much as possible and/or reduce your tincture until you are comfortable and then slowly increase the dosage until you are where you want to be .

Thanks! I took a detox bath last night and it made it better. I'm going to do a foot bath tonight. Later on this week I'm going to do an infrared sauna. This is something else...we all go through so much with this disease and the coinfections.

I just wish the healing process was easier on my body.

Air hunger is typically a sign of Babesia, not Bartonella - but in treating one infection the others have a chance to come out and 'play' as the bacterial loads of the other bacteria are lowered.

I used whole leaf Houttuynia (not the powder) as a medicinal tea for 6 months to rid myself of my Bartonella infection. That was 1 1/2 yrs ago that I stopped that treatment (Jan, 2012) and I haven't had any symptoms return.

As the others have said, it really sounds like a herx. Be sure you are doing all you can do to detox, and if it gets bad, stop the treatments and call your doc! Remember herxing means that the body is busy dealing with the toxins, rather than healing.

There's good advice here. The level of effective detox and level of antimicrobials are the main variables here. There is only so much you can do. Increase the detox and cut back on the tincture, or temporarily stop the tincture until you catch up with the detoxing.

Keep the faith! Sometimes the answers come later than we had expected!

Thank you everyone. I'm going to temporarily stop the tincture, detox...detox...detox...then resume again.

Trav I'm going to look into that tea. I love tea and I think it will work well for my system.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I want to try coffee enemas but scared because my body is hyper sensitive to caffeine.

I appreciate this forum so much! I can't wait to kick Bart out so I can start a Babs treatment.

You can use decaf coffee, that's what is actually recommended. There should only be 5 or so grams of caffeine in decaf. Of course, even decaf can keep me awake if I drink it in the evening, so be careful and only do this when you are able to sleep the next day if need be.
