I had been undiagnosed for Lyme for a at least 3 years before I was finally treated. I was diagnosed in the summer of 2012 and by January 2013, after treatment and exercising (weight loss :), I was feeling GREAT. Went to a specialist who agreed that at that time, since I was feeling so well, I didn't need any further treatment or testing. In May I started a new job that requires physical labor (heavy lifting). Within a few days, my joints started to ache again. I figured it was just my body adjusting to the labor. It has been 3 months and the joint pain has not improved. I have some days where it is difficult to do my job. I have also been experiencing carpal tunnel symptoms. When i went for my routine physical a couple of weeks ago, my regular doctor ordered another lyme test to "see if I needed an antibiotic booster". I haven't seen the results yet but was told that "only band 41 showed positive" so the doctor felt there is no need to retreat. When I asked about how to handle the joint pain, she recommended I take Vimono, which is used to treat osteoarthritis symptoms. I hate the thought of taking a prescription. I am curious to hear thoughts on this....should I contact the lyme doctor again? Has anyone taken this prescription? I should add that the joint pain is the only symptom that has returned...I am not experiencing the extreme fatigue and neurological symptoms that I had earlier.
