Sparky, I wouldn't give up on the possibility you have Lyme. If you can afford an Igenex test, that may be the way to go. My husband did, but then again, we were desperate to find out if there was a chance he had Lyme. The doctors only agreed that he had Lyme because of the Igenex testing. Maybe your doc would change his tune if he saw the positive results of a blood test. Have you tried any of the self-treatment options like the ones listed at the beginning of the Lyme forum called "New to Lyme"? If you herx at all, then there is a good possibility you have Lyme/coinfections. My husband Toby used different types of Rife machines and we feel his symptoms stopped progressing due to their usage. Another option is the Erchonia Laser. Toby was treated with this laser for Lyme by a chiro doctor. Do you know of any chiropractors there who use the Erchonia Cold Low Level Laser? I am only going to mention this to people who sound desperate. I don't want to keep sounding like I am trying to push this treatment modality. I do want people to know what our experience has been with this though so they can decide if they want to try it. There is an Erchonia website you can view. Otherwise, see what you can do to help yourself with herbs or other ways to fight the infection and detox.

We do have a few others here that are from outside the U.S., maybe you could start a new thread with the title something like "Needing advice in _________." and put in the country you live in? Since things must be dealt with slightly different than those of us living in the US, it would alert those that live near you that you need some help navigating testing and the like.

Testing for these infections really isn't the best way to go, to be honest. The current blood tests -even at the most reliable labs - are only about 50% accurate. In other words, about half of the people that have Lyme are being told that they don't because the tests are faulty. They don't take into consideration several things, but the most darning would be that these bacteria can actually turn off the immune response to them, which the tests rely on.

The most knowledgeable LLMD's diagnose clinically - by symptoms anyway! So the fact that you already know that you have most of the symptoms of at least a couple of tick-borne diseases says a lot!

I'm glad you know that you can get Lyme from any insect that can bite, draw blood and survive to bite again! The list includes many that we wouldn't suspect - from bed bugs, spiders and mosquitoes to sand flies, horse flies and deer flies....not to mention ticks!
