Hi Frazzled Mom!
Welcome to our little community! I'm so sorry that your daughter has these infections, though.
These tests are quite inaccurate to begin with. Generally speaking it would seem that she has a new infection, but what can happen is that there was a new infection that was picked up by the tests, while the older infection just isn't showing up. While not something that is seen every day, it's definitely something that I've seen posted about
.
These infections can reduce the immune response -especially when there is another tick-borne infection that gets passed at the same time like Bartonella or Babesia - so it
could be that although she has a chronic infection(s) that have made her sick for the last 2 years, she has also just gotten another one - or another "booster" of an infection that she already has.
I would like to encourage you to read through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread even though neither you or your daughter is 'new' to Lyme. It's packed full of really important information, symptoms lists, detoxing instructions and more.
Does your daughter see a Lyme Literate Practitioner of some sort? If not, we might be able to help you locate one near you. For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, you can start a new thread titled something like:"Looking for LLMD/LLND in the _______ area." Although you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact info to be posted on the forum for several reasons. You can enable your email option in your profile, under 'edit profile'. Be sure to click the submit button to actually save your preference.
You can also email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:

Lyme Disease.
You can also go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:
www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74 You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) trained doctor, as ID Docs (Infectious Disease Doctors) believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme. The ILADS site is another great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.
