Yes, for some people using lemon water can make them herx. The lemon helps to change the body from being acidic to alkaline. I know how weird that sounds, I mean we're talking about lemon juice!

Bacteria and viruses all like a acidic body, and some can even change the body over to being acidic. So by pushing the body back to being more alkaline, it kills off some of the bacteria - which can be enough to set off a herx for some people. It did this to me for a while too.

I've been drink ing alkaline water because I can't use lemon either and that's been helpful. I tried lemon water the other day and it kicked up my spasms and twitches so still no go.
