There is no solid proof that all Lyme patients have low CD57 readings, actually it's the opposite. While a low CD57 result is
an indicator of Lyme disease, particularly chronic Lyme, a person in no way needs to have a low CD57 in order to have chronic Lyme.
Band 41 can also be positive for other spirochetal infections besides syphilis like Yaws and Pinta, Leptospirosis and Relapsing Fever.
Lyme disease can be very much a neurological disease. Many here have/have had Neuro Lyme, including myself.
Band 39
is specific to Lyme, as Willseremark has said. Which means that it won't cross react with any other disease. Any doc worth their salt will treat according to this, once they have confirmed the infection with symptoms and possible exposure history.
Dr. James Schaller has said, "No blood smear will be positive for Babesia unless you have a profoundly massive number of infected red blood cells, which is rare. Therefore, no blood smear should be considered negative unless it has been examined for thirty minutes."

While taking an abx at the appropriate dose for a while before having your blood drawn is good, it is recommended that a person be off of all abx for 4 - 6 weeks before having the tests done. The abx can stop the proper antibodies from being produced that these tests look for.
But these tests aren't all that accurate anyway. Approximately 50% of those who have the Western Blot done that have Lyme disease will not receive a positive result. The Lyme ELISA is even worse for accuracy.
