I believe someone else wrote about
this a while ago. So over the weekend my doctor suggested that I start taking Manganese because she believes I'm deficient. I was hesitant because when I got my mineral levels checked back in February I was in the green (which is good). Something told me don't start using it...but I bought it. (Sometimes you get desperate to get well and will jump at something that sounds good for you).
On day one I felt a little weak but I thought that was the IV I got since it had been 2 weeks since the last one. But then my balance went a little off :-( it's already off but was doing pretty good last week!
Day two and three I take more (I even lowered the dosage) and today my legs were really weak and my nerves were on edge!
I looked up side effects and if you have a sufficient level of manganese in your system and then take in more to make the levels kind of high it can then cause weakness, neuro symptoms, the shakes, etc.
So what did I do on day 4 (today)...not take it! Lesson learned...stick to my gut. It hasn't been wrong yet.
To all of the new folks on the forum I know you might be new to Lyme but not to your instincts...follow them whether it's a medication, a doctor, food, advice, etc. Now I'm drinking tons of water to clean my system out (sigh).
BUT...we are still going trick or treating tonight. I will just walk slowly with his stroller lol.
Just had to share! Food for thought.
