Short Term Memory

Yep! Mine got worse in the spring, after a very stressful time. I do it in the kitchen a lot. I have some long term loss also, but not totally lost, so it may come back. My daughter downloaded some games onto my computer so I could exercise my brain. I told her it's a lost cause. ;) It is scarey, especially having 2 family members who ended up with dementia.

My daughter's brain function improved after a chinese herbal. I'll ask our doc if he thinks it could help my problem too, but it will probably be a couple of months before I can get in to see him. I will post my results if it helps. Hang in there and keep your hopes up. It should improve I'd think.

My hubby and I do that too sometimes. I can't remember the issue sometimes, so I can't defend myself and that gets very frustrating. But, life goes on.

I get this, too. I really hate this. Being forgetful is so unlike me. It's getting better with treatment, which is a positive.

Well, I would like to encourage you to hang in there and continue on with your treatments!! I'm on the other side now, fortunately!! I went through a very long period of time with absolutely no working memory (short or long term). I was really concerned since I have had these infections for so long and I still don't know of anyone that has healed using only herbs after having their infection for as long as I have - but after I went through my protocols and healed from the different infections - (drum roll please! )

And I have a working memory once again!! Woo hoo!!!

There are times that I can't recall still - but most of those are from when I was a very young child, so that's okay with me!! I had most (can't claim all as I don't know) of my memories of raising my children, my adulthood and sooo many happy memories return to me!

I can still remember the day when I was standing out in the yard, enjoying the sunshine one beautiful Spring morning, and there was a slight breeze. Suddenly it was like the breeze was pushing the memories back into me! So many came flooding back as I stood there with tears streaming down my face. Since then all it takes is a word, or someone telling me the 'story', or something I see to bring more memories back. I've learned to just wait and see what happens, and I've been pleasantly surprised at how much has been returned to me....even if it is slightly damaged.

I'm sure it does! I don't understand the mechanism of it all, but I do know that stress alone can make one's memory faulty. A serious illness like this only amplifies that effect.

I still have healing that I hope will go on with my brain, as when it gets tired (no matter how the rest of my body feels), my memory gets worse and worse, and I have to work really hard to retain things - but that's a lot better than not having a working brain at all! But remember, I had these infections untreated for literally 40 years, so they had lots of time to get deep into my brain.

I do know that my nerves are still healing! The tinglies and burning are getting less and less. I can't see the differences unless I look back over months, but I can see it!

So I want to encourage all to keep on working on your healing!! There is hope - lots of it! - that most if not all will return to what it once was!
