testing question

so...as I mentioned awhile back when first finding site, I tested sorta positive for lymes. Have numerous symptoms etc. My test (whatever test it was, dr. didn't inform me) came back at .84. She said she usually doesn't worry too much unless it was over a 1. Well the long and short of it is that I went on doxy for 6 wks. Over that period of time I slowly improved but definitely not perfect. I have been off meds now for about 2 wks. A week before finishing meds they retested me and I asked them to test for babesia and bartonella as well from reading this site. Well...everything came back negative. Yet the last 3 days now being off meds for a bit I feel I have regressed a bit. My eyes hurt more again and are light sensitive, seem achy etc. What am I suppose to do? Don't test positive yet seem to have regressed a bit now that meds are out of system. All my docs say is that symptoms can last over 6 months. Thats all I can get.

That is actually how I figured out I have lyme. I had a rash went on abx. Felt bad (herxing) then normal then I went off again felt horrible, suggested lyme and they gave me 30 days of abx. Felt worse then better, then realized during that time "Uh Oh" something has been wrong in my body for a Looooong time" Went off for 6 weeks and in that time it got to the point where I couldn't eat, or sleep, or work.Started having heart problems etc....

That being said, I am certainly not trying to freak you out. I had a very acute case of lyme. I would recommend looking for a lyme literate medical physician trained through ILADS. That is really the only option for being evaluated for lyme disease appropriately since the tests are not very accurate and the majority of the medical community does not understand the disease.
