He has an interesting theory that Lyme is part of a larger syndrome that includes exposure to mold, pesticides, heavy metals, etc. etc. This "syndrome" includes Epstein Barr, Fibromyalgia, Gulf War Syndrome, etc. etc.
I skimmed the book, bc it was too long: 500 pages.
The only problem with the book is that it has an overwhelming amount of information on treatments and supplementation.

I am currently reading it--downloaded it to my Kindle. It's fairly easy to read, despite the fact that it contains SO much info! But I needed to take a break--it doesn't make for good insomnia reading!

I'm also reading it-- loving it and loving Dr. H!!! What a loving and amazing man. I'm about
1/2 through and skip parts that seem not to pertain to me.

I have all but maybe the last chapter to read. What he is proposing makes sense and if the IDS will allow that to be a diagnosis perhaps more people will be able to get treatment. In many cases you start out with undiagnosed TBD which then do affect many other areas of your body and cause multiple system issues. So if his theory gets more people treated that would be great.

What do you folks do with all the information about
supplementation?
On a different issue, flowergal, isn't cortisol a form of prednisone? I thought people with Lyme weren't supposed to take prednisone? Just curious. I tried the cortisol, but I didn't like the side effects.

teragram I am also concerned about
this issue. cortisol is the what the adrenal glands naturally produce. Predinisone is a synthetic form that is given to sometimes decrease inflammation in disease and I am not sure if doctors give this form for low cortisol levels. I was thinking more like florinef?
is that what you take flowergal. I may have adrenal issues and I may have to go on a form of cortisol and was wondering more about
it.

I take fludrocortisone, but I don't know if it's a form of prednisone or not. I take it for orthostatic hypotension, so as not to pass out when I get dizzy or stand up too fast.

I bought the book... not sure why since my neuro symptoms are so bad I can barely read ;) I was able to look at parts of it and agree with what I've been able to read. I do believe heavy metals, molds, parasites etc need to be checked and treated since most people have them (myself included).

My daughter recently had a laser treatment for heavy metals and she has felt quite a difference from it. I didn't expect much to happen, but I'm glad my skepticism was wrong. I just thought it was interesting. Time will tell if it holds. I think he treated her for 5 or 6 things.
