Hello!


I am new to this forum, but have been browsing for awhile. I was clinically diagnosed with Lyme a few months ago, but have not had any positive blood tests. Some of my symptoms seem a little peculiar and I was wondering if any of you experience them. My Lyme definitely seems more neurological. One of the most trying symptoms is a certain hyperawareness or sensitivity to my body's movement. When I move I feel like everything is very fast, almost "fast forwarded." When I walk, sometimes I feel like I'm on a moving walkway or gliding. I feel fine when I am sitting in place. It's quite strange. I was wondering if this could be a manifestation of Lyme, or if I'm headed for the crazyhouse? :)

I'm sorta new here, so I don't have a lot of advice. But what you're (wow, totally lost my train of thought).......................................

What you're describing (describing is the word that I couldn't remember a minute ago) I feel the same things sometimes. I also feel like I'm moving really slow and unsteady and everything around me is doing 100 mph. I believe it to be part of the neurological effects of Lyme. There are so, so many.

Again, welcome to this forum, the people here are so supportive and so knowledgeable, I don't know what I do if I hadn't found this site.

Welcome to our community! No, you aren't on your way to the crazy house for those symptoms!! LOL! They can very much be from Neuro Lyme.

I too would greatly encourage you to read through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread that sits at the top of the forum. It's packed full of important information, plus things like symptom lists, detoxing instructions (a must for us), and more.

Are you in treatment for these infections with a Lyme literate practitioner? Do you have any of the other infections that you know of?

Thanks all for your welcomes and responses. It's very comforting to hear from others about these sometimes disturbing symptoms. It's so easy to let doubts creep in, especially when you don't have the assurance of a positive blood test. I've been checking out the "New to Lyme" post and there's lots of great info, though!

One more question on these neurological symptoms... do any of you start feeling more dizzy or disoriented in stores or in large groups of people? I'll be feeling fine and then I'll go into a store and start experiencing that fast, dizzy symptom. Almost like I'm drunk. It really puts a damper on the shopping experience, but it's been great for the wallet! :)

LOL! Yes! Many have gone through what you are describing!! It's funny to me now, but back when it was first happening, I found it pretty frustrating. I believe for me anyway, it was an over stimulation of the nerves - all of them! The lights and the noise all contributed.

I found that a hat with a good brim on it and dark sunglasses helped me a lot. At one point the noise was so bothersome that I my son bought me an mp3 player that I listened to calming music while I shopped and that made a huge difference as well.

I did get a lot of goofy looks from people, but at least I no longer got lost inside the grocery stores and could find my way to the front door again!
