EXTREMELY strange reaction to Vancomicyn & Rocephin IV please help!!!

I have lyme disease and I am 19.
I had been making great process on Rocpehin and then Vancomicyn (I had previously lost my ability to walk because of being so off balance and my balance has now improved so much I barely need a cane).
BUT this dots showed up on BOTH mediciations causing me to get pulled off both of them: http://i.imgur.com/RNTC3v1.png

I have no idea why they are appearing.
They are not itchy but extremely red (more so than in the photo) and quickly start to spread up my legs. As this happens, on BOTH medications I developed extreme redness in my face and fatigue along with tightness in my throat on the 7th or 8th day.

I did my first dose of Clindamicyn tonight and the dots are back. T
he photo above is of the dots that showed up tonight. It is literally in the hair follicles. It's like they are swelling up.
Any idea on why this might be happening? I've been told to take reactine everyday and cross my fingers it stops as I need a full 30 days of medication to get rid of lyme because I was bitten so long ago (previous doctor did not believe it was possible to have it - finally did tests and came back extremely positive for lyme).

I really just want to get through the 30 days of medicine.

(I can't take doxy through IV as its not avaliable in Canada and I cannot take pills because of extreme gastritis/stomach inflammation that I was hospitalized for, for an extended period of time)

Does your doctor think this is an allergic reaction OR a skin eruption from the bacteria being kicked around and coming out in that form on your skin? I had a reaction when I started antibiotics and I thought it was an allergic reaction but my LLND said it was from Bartonella being kicked around and not liking it and then coming out on my skin. It then went away for me. But your reaction sounds more severe and like an allergic reaction. Please get an opinion from your doctor today. You might be better off taking herbals if you are allergic to antibiotics or cant take them because your stomach is so sensitive from this disease which I understand because I have a sensitive stomach as well hun. This disease is awful. Don't give up. There are alternative remedies. You can still beat this with herbals if you can't tolerate antibiotics.

My Bart tests were negative twice and llmd doesn't think I have it.
Yeah I don't have much faith in the non anti bitoitcs way so I guess i just take reactine. Thanks for your help :).

Hi there...I hope all is well. I too didn't have faith in the non antibiotic way until mybody kept crashing and having strange reactions to stuff (like Rocephin IV's). Also Bart and all of the other coinfections can be negative in your lab tests but you can still have. My doctor didn't believe I had coinfections but my herbalist and now my specialist (who confirmed it) did. I'm being treated because of my symptoms. Coinfections can also cause your balance to be off (it's a bad symptom...I have balance issues too).

I'm also having a break out on my hands and arms (my hands are the worst). It's the bacteria and everything else coming out through my skin (it hurts). But I'm with mumma...check in with your doctor. I checked in with mine so I can work on getting this worked out.

Sorry you are so young and dealing with this...this is supposed to be the time of your life. I'm remaining hopeful for you that all of this will pass.

30 days of abx is NOT enough to treat Lyme disease - you will need a minimum of 60 - 90 days and that's if you have no symptoms. Once symptoms show up, the infection has buried itself deeper into your body, systems and organs to be able to get rid of with just 30 days of abx.

I would greatly suggest that you take the time to read through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread that sits at the top of the forum. It's packed with a ton of really important information about these diseases. One I'd like to point out for you to be sure to read is Dr. Joseph Burrascano's paper, "Advanced Topics in Lyme Disease", as it outlines what is required to effectively treat these infections. Don't worry, it's not overly 'sciency', it's actually pretty easy to read!

I'm really sorry that you don't have much faith in the non-antibiotics way, as many here have healed using herbs! I tried using antibiotics and they made me really really ill, so I ended up using herbs only and have healed. Please know that they really do work - and sometimes better than antibiotics!

Those pictures that you posted, especially the last two look exactly like hives, which is likely part of an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. So please be very, very careful!!!

If you notice any swelling around your face, neck or ears, please get to an emergency room immediately!!
