Anyone else lose reflexes due to lyme? It apparently was the case with me. I haven't had any reflexes in my right leg since last may and as of today they are back! The abx must be doing something!

Hey!! Congrats!! turn I lost almost all reflexes in arms and legs for a while too. I haven't been to a doc that tests them since I started treatments, but I'm assuming they are back. I do know that I now have more feeling in my fingertips than I can ever remember having!

My LLMD tells me that reflex loss is common and expected with Lyme. Its why a good MD will test you periodically and monitor your progress (smacking your knee with that soft hammer I dislike so much).

I consider myself lucky in that I responded very well under ABX and my reflexes also improved. You should too, not everyone has their reflexes improve!

If I had a bad case of Lyme in my 20s (which was a long time ago), which I'm pretty sure that I did, then yes, I had no reflex response in my knees. It was pretty strong before that. If the MDs I went to had checked that, then they would've accepted that there was something going on in me, rather than just telling me I was depressed.

Funny you mention that garden peace because when I was missing reflexes that was the first time my PCP doctor admitted there was something wrong but no Lyme...

Are most doctors really that bad?

I mean you would expect them not to run a series of costly tests that may be speculative, but to NOT hit someone's knee to test their reflexes and monitor their response for free? I had 3 infectious disease doctors that didnt even bother.

Is medical training really this bad?

I believe it is. My friend is in med school and she tried to tell me that auto immune diseases are the body attacking itself for no reason. Jaw dropped to the floor.

I don't have a lot of faith in MDs after the way they treated me and how they neglected my mother and father. My mom probably would've been gone sooner if I hadn't gone to her appts. with her for several years to keep them from giving her drugs needlessly. They did to some extent, but not as much as she would've if I hadn't been there.

Yes, I've lost my faith in MD's as well. It is better to self diagnose and self treat many things IMHO. I was really happy to find a company I can order blood tests through w/o needing a physician ordering it.
I do know a few good drs now at least through this experience.
