Bicillin seems to have stopped working

I have been taking Bicillin 2.4 million for almost two months. The shots did wonders until late last week, when, it seems, they stopped helping.

Had no problems until a shot one week ago when I became very dizzy right after the shot, broke out in a few hives, had itching under arms and "strawberry" rash on upper part of leg.

Itching went away quickly. Dizziness stayed until I slept two hours. Strawberry went away after a few days.

My follow up shot three days ago did not cause problems, but it did not seem to help as my old symptoms (stiff neck, headache, stomach pain, fatigue) have come back. Don't know if I'm getting sick or if this is a return of all symptoms.

DO NOT want to go back to how I was.

I have been getting the shots every four days. I started at every five days with no problem.

Doctor said twice a week. I weigh 163 pounds (6' 0"). Could not doing it four and three days hurt the impact of the shot?

I also began exercising recently more rigorously. Could I have over done it and caused this?

Finally, can the shot simply stop working after a while?

I felt so good for about 7 weeks on them, then WHAM! Not sure what is going on.

It's quite possible - even likely - that the bacteria had gone into a cyst form, unless you are taking something that is a cyst buster along with it. It just means that it's time to switch up the abx, preferably with something that is a cyst buster now.

Be sure that you are detoxing well too though, as this will get in the way of your healing if your body gets 'backed up' with toxins.

When the threat of abx is no longer present the bacteria will morph from cyst into an active form, so yes - they will cause problems.

I'm sorry to hear of the return of symptoms. A lot of people that strictly do antibiotics do not seem to get better. However, many and most in my opinion do get better with a pretty strict diet, detox, antibiotics and herbs. I am not too familiar with tindazole or bicilllin unfortunately so I can't really advise you on that.

Have you thought about pursuing alternative medicine or supplementing it with the protocol recommended by your physician?

The one good thing (if there is a good thing) about this disease that there are numerous ways to treat it, it just depends on what works for the person.

We have a great posting on detoxing and the things that we suggest in the "New to Lyme?" thread. They include dry skin brushing, eating healthy, drinking at least 64 ounces of water (with added lemon if you don't have muscle spasms,twitching, or cramps), Epsom salt/peroxide soaks (full baths and foot soaks), along with other ideas for detox baths.

Activated charcoal is another good thing to use, but you will need to take it 2 hours after and 2 hours before anything else - meds, supplements or nutrition. Please be sure to have a 4 hour block of time where you will not be taking any of those things as the charcoal will absorb that and usher it out of the body as well.

Having symptoms wax and wane throughout the day is quite common actually. Some find they do better in the morning, although many do best in the late afternoon/evening hours.

These bacteria are incredibly complex, and they will go into a cyst form or hide in biofilms any time they feel threatened or an abx has been used for "too long" (which is a different amount of time for each person from what I can determine). Changing abx frequently or adding in cyst busters and/or herbs will help avoid this issue.
