Hello everyone, does anyone have any advice on how to find a primary care physician while dealing with this illness? I would like to find a doctor close to my home just in case, for colds and flu, etc. Im worried about doing this knowing that i will have to address my lyme, long term antibiotic use, etc......any suggestions on how to approach them if i find one? Also, happy new year to everyone!! :-)

Excellent and timely question! I am in the same boat, although I have my 1st 'new patient' appt on Jan 30th. I could use some suggestions as to how to handle my positive IGenex, although the llmd I saw a few weeks ago said it was a false positive. Do I tell all of this to the new nurse, because I believe I won't even be seeing a Dr at this visit. Do I just start telling them all the many symptoms, and that I need another lyme and babesia test?

Unfortunately I could not use a regular MD at all. I was told after taking abx for 2 weeks I did not have Lyme anymore. End of story. Even though I was losing my mind, memory and ability to function I was told I had post Lyme syndrome. Also many of these docs would give out morphine over abx any day of the week.

LOL! Barngirl!!! That is unless you have acne!! Then the Dermatologist will write open ended 'scripts for the right amount of Doxy!!

Since so many regular doctors side with ID docs (& bad LLMD's) in many aspects, I would suggest calling ahead and asking questions about how they feel about you being treated for tick-borne infections (leave the word "Lyme" out of the conversation if possible) before you make the trip, spend the money and then end up upset when they don't even believe that Lyme should be treated - or whatever their excuse is.

The other alternative is to use a Holistic doctor. They see things in a whole different light than regular MD's.
