Is Borrelia Elispot-LTT (LymphocyteTransformationsTest) available in USA?

I am hearing that this LTT test is very sensitive and even those of us that have WB, PCR, Elisa tests that come back negative or IND that the LTT can even show results for late stage lyme. Anyone know if there is a 'reliable' lab in the USA that does the LTT and how much is it? How long does it take to get results? I have searched the site and it seems this LTT is mostly run in Europe so just wondering if it has and equivalent test in USA or if thre is an equivalent test at IGenix?

I just found this at the Bette HealthGuy site

10) MELISA testing was traditionally employed for testing for allergic responses to various metals. It is also available as a potential method for diagnosing Lyme disease by looking at reactivity of blood cells to different strains of Borrelia. You can get LTT Elispot through Igenex. You have to speak to a certain person though because if you just call them they will not know what you are talking about. They send it to Germany.

Thanks. I just ordered a new kit from igenex so I will call them about ltt.

Has anyone here taken that test VIA igenex?

I am waiting for results. It has been 6 weeks. I hope the blood samples did not land in the ocean somewhere…You need a different kit than what they sent you. And you need to pay a deposit of $250. If you don't, you got the wrong kit. And a doctor has to prescribe it.

Ok Thx, I will call them Tuesday. I gather this is the first time you have taken the LTT ?? did your WB come back negative or not strong enough for positive? If the deposit is $250 I imagine the total cost is significant.

My WB was not strong enough to be positive. I did the whole package because I figured if it's more than one thing then I really need to know in order to get treated. It costs a lot of money but I thought without correct diagnosis I am not going to get better.

What does LTT test for?. I guess I thought it just looked for boreliosis.

Mine also was not strong enough to b positive and I want to be sure of what I have cause it gives me pause taking all theses supps and and.

It is Lyme, chlamydia pneumoniae, ehrlichia, and chlamydia trachomatis. They do single tests or packages. I chose the most comprehensive package bc I am SO sick and tired of being this sick and tired.

Thanks. I hope you get some definitive answers. I think I am having some better hours on this oral abduction but it will take much more time to convince me since I have been sick for so long.

Yea prior to this I was married for 13.5 years to my husband who was very ill and finally passed away 2.5 years ago. That meant going from children with severe autism at work to a disabled husband with no sleep for years. 6 months after his death I got bitten by a tick. I had no chance. So I went into this at rock bottom already. That is why I am probably more aggressive with treatments and trying to get help than others.

You have had a great burden to bear, I pray you get answers, your health and relationships restored, health for your family and some peace as you travel this difficult path.....this I pray for you, myself and all others fighting this overwhelming battle! We have had so much to endure, for so long with so little compassion, support or answers.
