Great suggestion Trav, so glad you are on OUR side!
: )
LOL!! Me too - I like to be on the winning side!!
Roxie - chronic or not, you shouldn't wait that long. The damage is ongoing. Why not at least start on herbal therapy that you can do on your own while you wait? It likely will do you a lot of good and will likely reduce your symptoms too!
Stacestar -
Whether the new LLMD likes it or not makes no difference. You are looking out for your son, not her. Just see if you can talk to her without your hubby being within ear shot and explain why you will be seeking treatment in another state - or make up a reason. It's really none of their business, it's the health of your son that is your concern. It'll be worth making waves if you have to!!
And there are doctors that will do this, although I don't know how many.
about
getting Lyme out in the
open, what about
just putting word out that you have a son with it and making an email address available for those that wish to talk with you? I'm always amazed at how many people email me! I mean I'm goofy and don't think the way most people do, yet I've been able to feel like I give back where it's needed the most - directly to those who are trying to live through this!
I will be starting an information/support group in my area fairly soon too - in an area where not only do we not have any LLMD's (actually that's the whole state!), but where no one can even get a doctor to admit that Lyme disease is in the area! I've talked with sooo many parents that have seen the perfect bulls eye rash on their child, yet couldn't get treatment even thought they knew what was needed!!!
Anyway, I'm for the local or person to person improvements. There are people working on the 'big picture' of National recognition, but those that are really suffering are all local to someone! I figure we are all in this together - even me still - we have to help each other so that we can show that there IS healing even from chronic Lyme and other tick-borne infections.
.....Oops...
......stepping down off the soap box now......sorry!!!
