Over the past 2 days I suffered from severe back pain and stiffness.
Seemed to come around to the front right hip at times. I took a couple
of OTC sleeping pills last night and the pain subsided.

It returned at 3 am this morning. When I had chest pain I took
doxycycline and it stopped the pain. Sure enough the doxycycline
almost completely took away the back pain this morning and throughout
the day.

Here we go again with the new malady of the week.

To all concerned doctors who turn away patients with this disease who
need antibiotics, now hear this, You dont want to do ANYTHING except
collect your fees from insurance companies. This is a serious disease and
you are denying people medical care. You are a bunch of BOOBS.

Back pain---yes. Mine's not at the point you're describing, however. I'm so sorry you're so sore. Glad the doxy seems to kick it.

I'm not in treatment yet, but I do have a stash of muscle relaxants, just in case.


And, I'm with you on your rant!

I have had a couple of bouts with lower back pain recently - for no good reason unless it is Lyme. Just p-a-i-n. Not on abx yet, but soon will be.

Hi SouthernChick. I used the heating pad for a little relief. OTC pain relief also helped. I was looking at Burrascano's list of symptoms and back pain was there. Of the 2 abx I use the doxy worked best.

I can tell you from experience that back pain can definitely 100% be from Lyme though I had the opposite experience as you Barngurl.

Doxy brought out back pain for me as did oregano oil to a lesser extent. My back pain is obviously a herx. The worst was from monolaurin. Very bad back pain and severe chest muscle pain. Would never take again.

I have spasms in my back, shoulders, neck, thighs, and biceps. Not sure if it's from LD or anxiety or something else.

My spine hurts in the lower back, mid back and the neck, of course. It's been so bad for months that I am very limited in function. I have some bone spurs and cysts so Im not sure if thats aggrevating nerves and tendons. It has been the most challenging pain Ive experienced. I have has succes with icing my lower back at times. My sciatic nerve is almost always pinched all the way down my leg. Does anyone else get this? Any remedies? I want to try water massage and get some chiropractic work done.

I am thinking the hip joint is effected as well. Ive had my knee, toe and ankle blow up already. Some abx do aggravate symptoms. From what my llmd told me it is an immune response. The toe and ankle went down but the hip and knee are now effected.

The only things that helped are heating pad, epsom salt baths and otc pain relief as needed.
