Hi all, I finally made it to my LLMD appointment. Waiting those 2 weeks was worth it. For those of you who don't know my story - I was bitten in October (didn't make the connection at the time bc didn't have the classic rash), flu symptoms started in November and continued thru January, severe anxiety in November followed by cystitis in December followed by muscle/nerve issues in January. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which I didn't buy, and after much research I diagnosed myself with Lyme and convinced a walk in clinic Dr to start me on doxycycline.
My LLMD said that based on my symptoms and order of symptoms my case is clear cut. She has no doubt. What's crazy is, she said that even the IGenex labs can sometimes come out with false negative results. So regardless of the bloodwork results in the next few weeks, she is treating me until I am good to go. The best news is, she says b/c I caught it early and was so healthy before this happened, she expects me to make a complete recovery!!
she increased my doxy dose from twice a day to three times a day.
she put me on a strict anti - lyme diet (I was already doing most of it except for the gluten - which I am doing now)
and she put me on a list of nutritional supplements, including magnesium, alka seltzer, Vit B12, Vit C, Vit D, teasel root, and of course probiotics. and Charcoal if and when I herx.
I was very happy with the visit. She spent 1.5 hrs with me. I go for the next check up in 3 weeks.
She said that 30% of the lab tests are wrong. Why don't the regular Doctors know this?? There were 4 doctors I spoke to and none of them believed me. It is so terrible how unaware they are of Lyme and it's symptoms, and it's false negative testing results!! I was lucky I only had to wait 2 weeks to see this Dr, but I have to admit, it cost a fortune!!!
So, I am happy to say I believe I am on my continued journey to a full recovery. Just don't know how long or painful it will be. I am already so much better, but I am anticipating more difficult days ahead before this is all over. I will be posting new threads with plenty of questions!!

I'm glad you got diagnosed. I am two months into a 7 month wait to see llmd and get official diagnosis. You are fortunate to have caught so soon. I have spent years dealing with doctors and getting no help. I am hopeful that is going to change. I just wish I did not have to wait so long but doctor adding over 100 new patients.

Good news! I''m glad for you!
My son's Igenex was officially negative, so that's true that it does happen. He had band 41 ++ and band 39 IND, but with those (especially 39 being lyme specific and "present" although not officially positive) and his symptoms our doctor (in fact three, b/c my husband wanted a second opinion from pediatrician who contacted another dr. to confirm his belief) said it was lyme disease and to "definitely treat".
I agree with you, with wondering why in the world don't doctors know this information! The politics or whatever it is about
this needs to get out of the way!
Anyway, thank goodness your on the road to healing! I need to find a new llmd I think, b/c ours doesn't say anything about
nutrition, supplements, or anything like that. I know I can look that up, but I want someone to lead me in that. Any chance your from IA and that's where your llmd is? ;) (probably unlikely I know)
