I just stumbled upon something called the Envita Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. Has anyone here heard of these folks or worked with them re: lyme....? I know several of you have posted about
Hansa but, I don't think I've heard anyone here talk about
the Envita Clinic.
Here's a link to the lyme portion of their website... I'm thinking about
emailing them with some questions.

Thanks.

I think I have seen a thread somewhere around here about
Envita. I am going to Sponaugle, starting 4/7. I will be posting about
my experience. So far so good, they did $5k worth of blood work and found a ton of stuff that's wrong and noone else has thought about
! I am impressed!

I'll be interested to hear your experience.
I've spent well over $5k in blood work thus far with the doc's I'm working with in Iowa.

I don't even know how much I spent before this. I don't count. It would only make me depressed. I figured, I was not getting better, I spent thousands of $, there is nobody who will take care of me, and I needed a radical solution. So I looked around and Sponaugle seemed the most reasonable one. I will definitely let you know how things are going.

In my opinion, and this is my opinion (!) those big-time clinics are just in it for the money, and will dx practically anyone with Lyme Disease.
I would recommend going to an LLMD who has his or her own practice.
Just because someone (or a clinic) treats Lyme doesn't mean he/she knows what he's doing. The same is true for any illness.

Is Envita something that you'd consider a "big time clinic"....? I'd never heard of it before.

Yes, I had heard of it several times. I steer clear of "clinics" in general, but there are certainly some that are an exception.
In general, the bigger the price tag, the more you should be suspicious. Also, the glossier the advertisements or websites . . . .
Most good LLMDs have very simple websites and no ads, bc they don't want people to know about
them! I've seen ads for Lyme clinics on this website! To me, that's not a good sign for the clinic.

I recommend proceeding cautiously with Envita. Their main doctor Brent Korn was censured and restricted from diagnosing or treating Lyme disease by the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners in January for treating a patient for Lyme disease w/o appropriate diagnostic criteria in a manner determined by the Osteopathic Board to be harmful or potentially harmful to a patient.

I wonder if the Osteopathic board knows how Lyme is properly diagnosed. It could be the doctor was wrongly accused. Diagnosing is such a big issue since there are no tests that are good enough to give a correct diagnoses from them alone. I haven't read the article you posted yet, though.

Yea, I've heard of a lot of good doctors that have sanctions against them so I wouldn't necessarily frown on that too much.
That being said, I would generally not recommend clinics - only as a last resort. My reason for this is mainly the costs. Not all clinics are that expensive but envita/sponaugle run thousands a week. And if that doesn't work, where do you go and with what money?

If I ran one of those clinics, I'd give some money back to those who weren't helped!

Envita is great! My lyme disease has been so tough on me and my daughter but I have been treated so well here and the doctors and staff really know what they are doing. Couldn't be happier.

I was the patient that filed that complaint against Envita and Brent Korn. My previous post about
that same matter is here
https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=3194219
There's a short easy to read summary of the case here
https://www.casewatch.org/board/med/korn/censure_2014.shtml
You can also read my google review about
Envita for more info.
I'm happy to answer any questions about
it here.

LOL! Well, maybe others are thinking about
it and have questions!! I just wanted you to know that it's not likely that anyone that has posted previously on this thread likely aren't going to respond - but others may!
