Coinfections Yersinia and Chlamydia Pneumoniae

I had an appointment with my LLMD today.

I tested positive for Chlamydia Pneumoniae and Yersinia.
I read different things about Yersinia, so I don't know what to believe.

He's convinced that my recent severe flare (and probably all of the 20 years I had it before) of Erythema Nodosum is caused by Yersinia.
He's angry with the dermatologist who put me on Peniciline. She should have tested me for Yersinia (which is a known cause for erythema nodosum), cause having taken the peniciline complicates the treatment of these coinfections. He will have to do some research to know if he can give me the right abx now, just after a heavy course of Peniciline. I'm waiting for him to send me my new protocol. Meanwhile I can continue the Samento/Banderol/Cumanda/Burbur protocol. That will not change.

Any insights on Yersinia, together with Chlamydia??
I feel hit by a hammer and so tired, I don't seem to be able to look up a lot myself these last weeks... thank you for your help...

Oh, the Yersinia is the cause of the low back pain I have.

MarieLS, so sorry there are more 'friends' to add to your long coinfection list.

Don't know anything about Yersinia, but thinking about you!

yersina and lyme can be cross reactive. my husband tested positive for both.

my doc says yersina = intense pain.

Hi Marie, Sorry to hear this. Was this with original infections or after another bite. Im not too familiar with these but Im glad your llmd was able to diagnose what is happening.

I tested positive for Lyme on a Elispot LTT test. So I think I'm safe on that. Thanks for the info though. That is what my dr said, pain, especially located in the lower back...

Barngurl & Ksgirl, thank you. yes, I'm glad that he found some more pieces of the puzzle. We might get there, slowly, but we'll get there...

MarieLS, my son has lots of pain in his lower back. What kind of testing did they do for Yersinia--antibody testing? Also, when I looked it up I saw a couple different kinds of Yersinia--which do you have?

@Pathogenkiller, what does cross reactive mean?

Hi, no answers from me I'm afraid, but I was puzzled so I wanted to post.

Yersinia Pestis causes the Bubonic Plague. It is carried by fleas. It is treatable with Penicillin. I assume this is a different Yersinia, that does not respond to pen? I'll be checking back to learn more about this as people give what they know.

I wish docs could look at themselves as critically as they look at others! I'm sure your first doc is not the only one to misdiagnose! That isn't reassuring I know. There is a good point in his concern - docs should look up the ailments for common links before putting chemicals into the mix.

I did the following test: Yersinia Serology test: IgG & IgA/M (immunoblot). I'll send you the labinfo by pm. The dr was talking about my intestines, and I do have to do a stool test, so I guess Yersinia enterocolitica.

If most of them picture themselves sitting on a tower, suffering from a God Complex, I doubt that most of them will...

Ksgirl, it means sometimes Lyme will cause yersina to be positive in absence of actual yersina infection. My doc says the pain from yersina reduces the strongest man or woman to tears, it is intense..

man I want to know more about this. I have cats and did have a dog. we had a flea problems back in 2007 or 2008. I Had the rash in 2011 and now sick terrible burning pain on my chest, and back headaches stabbing pain back of my neck, swollen lymph nodes, pain on bottom of my feet. I am going to look that one up.

Previously, I only knew to have Bartonella as a coinfection, so I'm not at all up-to-date with coinfections.

But I just stumbled upon this link, it is REALLY interesting, all about coinfections and how to treat them! 21 pages, but more than worth going through it. It'll probably take me 2 days to understand everything (that brain is giving me many concentration issues).

What I'm reading about Yersinia is worrying me... wow...

I often wondered if I was exaggerating about the pain, thinking I am a wimp. Thinking I can't stand pain well. But apparently I wasn't imaginating.

Everyone experiences pain differently. It is electro-chemical signals and our brains are not all wired the same. If it hurts, it hurts. If someone else doesn't feel it as badly, it's not you being a wimp, it's your brain sending a stronger message.

My son went from mostly oblivious if he bumped himself to crying over seemingly minor things, and even saying a stroke of his hair hurt.  It kept getting worse and worse. For him Amoxicillin helped a lot, along with Manganese, Magnesium, and Flax oil.

It doesn't help our ability to cope with ain when we are not getting support and sympathy. Something in short supply for many with Lyme.

Light at the end of the tunnel? HI! Here we are, and we care. We want to know what's going on, and we get how lousy it can get. Keep fighting. It does get better.
