Help!!!

I was on doxycycline for 2 months and just took a blood test last week to see if my mycoplasma was gone which in fact it was.. Started 2g of rocephin once a day. Im about 6 days in and I'm having anxiety, blurry vision, eye is twitching, migraine, and just feeling very icky.

I was kind of worried because I thought I might be relapsing but the more I think about it, it sounds a lot like a herx which I haven't had in awhile. I'm just worried about some symptoms returning because I've made a lot of progress as last week was my best week in over a year.

I take the first part of my chiropractic licensure testing this Saturday so I'm hoping some of the brain fog subsides!!

Please tell me it's just a herx and the rocephin is kicking butt!! What do you think?

how long have you had the hives?? b/c I am allergic to the rocephin class, and break out in hives - be careful with that!! hives are usually a sign that you are allergic to Something!

Welcome to the forum ChiroCG. I don't have an answer for you, but I wanted to wish you luck on your testing. I hope you can feel better on that day at least.

Mu daughter used to go through hives due to stress - it may be that your body is responding to the stress.

Some experience their symptoms return in reverse order than they showed up as they heal - then those symptoms are gone. I do hope this is the case for you!!!

I guess I've never really been able to pinpoint a herx.. It seems as if I am regressing but hopeful I am just herxing being a week in on the rocephin.. Last week was the clearest my mind has ever been I was so hopeful and optimistic pursuing my goals with faith and now my brain fog and cognitive deficits are back after a week of starting rocephin. It's very difficult when someone tells you their name and a minute later you can't remember it.. I know I'll get thru my testing this weekend. I just need some peace of mind the brain fog is temporary and that it will lift again... I need my brain back please!!!

Rocephin is a heavy hitter. I took the oral form which is ceftin and the symptoms were very similar to what you describe. And after that woozy, dizzy out of it feeling I got insanely thirsty for a few days and then I was good.

I hope you are starting to feel better, I'm sure healing is just around the corner!
