Has anyone heard anything about live blood testing for co-infections?  My doctor was telling me a little about it at my last visit.  She didn't say she wanted to do it right now, but that it was an option to test for some co-infections...and that you could see the Lyme disease in it too...

bump. I've heard about it but am not too familiar on the accuracy or cost of it so I can't really give an honest opinion.

My doctor said it cost about $150, but she didn't really speak on the accuracy or whether it would change her treatment course for me.

This is how my Lyme disease was FINALLY diagnosed.

I had gone to at least 50 doctors over a 5 month period of time after being in the ER twice. No one could figure out what was wrong. Lyme tests came back negative.

My aunt told me about a woman who looks at your live blood under a microscope and could figure out what's wrong. It was $125. The woman said there were 5 "markers" she looks for in the blood when looking for Lyme and I had all 5 of them.

She also saw parasites in my red blood cells. I don't know if she was looking for co-infections or not but I believe she saw Babesia. She didn't mention much about it.

I actually saw the spirochetes swimming around. It was disgusting to know that that is in my body.

This woman is not a Lyme doc by any means, she just owns a natural/holistic spa. This woman saved my life because I was very ill...

It sounds really cool. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth it since I already have a positive Lyme test from Igenix...so I would just be looking for confirmation and co-infections. It would be disgusting to see that they are in my blood, but also it would provide proof.

So, is the woman who did your test a phlebotomist or otherwise qualified to do testing?

hmm I can't really remember. I know she went to school or took courses to become sort of like a certified live blood analyst. I saw the certificates hanging on her wall.

I do believe she told me she was originally a nurse. Now she opened up her own natural/holistic center.

The microscope is called a darkfield I had an Amish Naturopath
guy tell my I had lyme that's how I found out what was wrong
with me. He would also tell me my liver was struggling. I don't
know if they can tell about co-infections. But yes you can see
the spirochetes. But ended up going to LLMD. started abx then
went back to him couldn't see them he said when you do abx you can't see them because there in the cell he broke a cell and you could see them.
