Soles of Feet Hurt ?

Well after 8 months awoke with a brand new symptom today. It hurts to walk and the soles of my feet seem painful. It isnt the kind of pain where its disabling but it is irritating and just another day of somethings wrong. Disease never ceases to amaze me. Progression is scary. Just wondering if youve had it and whether it is immune response, herx or new symptom. Am currently taking abx.

Are the meds the same or different for bart ? It doesnt surprise me but I am a little disappointed.
Im still sick for 8 months of treatment. Main issues are stiff neck, arthritis and still some anxiety and memory issues. I also have 3 joints that randomly blow up. Many other symptoms come and go.

I sometimes rub my feet with a mixture of a good massage oil and magnesium oil when it's really bad, and it feels like giving me some relief (especially the day after).
A very annoying symptom, worse when getting up in the morning...

Yes it improved as the day went on. I couldnt believe it was happening. I dont know why. I was walking into my parents home and thinking omg my feet hurt, it hurts to walk. Thanks for your help. I have suspected bart in my son for some time. He had the foot pain esp soles and he also has dramatic personality changes when he misses his meds. Kind of a nightmare to get rid of this. Last time we were at llmd he checked my sons back for scratches or tiger stripe rash is I believe what he said.

hey anyone else have a swollen gland that does not ever fully go down. I have had one in my neck for a long time before any symptoms arose.

Im noticing this paticular node changes size. And I read the disease hides out in the lymph nodes. One of the abx actually seems to shrink the node. I dont think the Lyme is resolved and other symptoms are surfacing.

I had the rage so did my husband and my son. We spent our entire family life outdoors. My husband also had the tick bite and bulls eye. He was given one day of doxycycline. We also had a baby horse who almost died from anaplasma. Different life looking betterand better although I am a true country girl at heart !

The drug of choice to treat BLO is levofloxacin. Levofloxacin is usually never used for Lyme or Babesia.

I had night sweats and foot issues. But both are now gone after being on doxy for 6 weeks. My dr said I may have bart, but sometimes doxy is enough to do the trick, if not, I have heard of people adding either rifampin or zithromycin to the mix. What were you taking before the doxy?

I don't like the quionolones either! Be careful. That class of antibiotics crosses the CNS barrier. For some people they can suffer serious permanent side effects. Yet for others it can be a wonder drug!

I have taken doxy, then to ammoxicllin which worked wonders. The Cefdinir and ammox, worked very well. Am currently taking cefdinir and doxy. I occasionally substitute ammox for cefdinir if I get extreme joint swelling. I try for about 5 days on cefdinir then 2 days off.
Ammox will stop any joint swelling and arthritis that the other two cause as an immune response. I have the planquenil which helps with the arthritis but have not consistently used it. The Cefdinir really improves my mood and feeling of well being. So basically Ive thrown anything I can at it. Have been consistently improving but cannot stop abx.

BarnGurl- If you want to stick to abx, for Bart I would choose Rifampin combined with either Mino (better than Doxy) or Zithromax. If that fails then you could consider Factive which is a quinolone but has less risk of tendon rupture than Levaquin. They say the trick is to take high doses of magnesium away from taking the med to lower that risk. I still would only take it as last resort.

Marie- I don't blame you for being scared though many have been ok with it. I took Levaquin two years ago for a sinus infection and stopped 6 days into it as the back of my soles were hurting. I didn't realize at the time I had Lyme so thought it was the tendon side-effect but believe now it was hitting Bart. Good luck with the new med!
