Does anyone else get knees issues and if so what is done to treat them? It seems like it is my prime symptom now. I think the knee is just such a large joint Lyme must particularly like it there.

Will the medications tinidazole and minocycline treat them there? I wonder if there are any herbs for knee treatments. Or will I need to get ozone injections? I feel like pressure is building up inside of my knees and needs to be relieved.

Last week it was my prostate herxing this week it's my knees, I wonder what is next.

I have synovotis but I've had lyme most of my life. Yes I have knee issues, unfortunately I don't know what to do for them. I wanted to start doing squats and my knees are so jacked up I won't be able to do many. However today I feel like a broken bag of bones, I was supposed to start yoga tonight and I don't know that I will able to go. I'm sooty your knees hurt, it should pass with treatmet.

I, too, have dealt with knee issues. I know this is due to LD. In Jan '12 I had surgery to mend torn meniscus. I didn't know it was torn for more than 6 months! Very painful. I didn't 'do' anything to mess it up. I'm not a runner, I can barely walk! I now believe, since I've been recently dx with LD, that the lyme is the reason.

I'm starting think others with LD deal with this, too.

Sorry you are. Be careful with your knees, and take things easy. If I had know at the beginning it was a tear in the meniscus, I could have really pampered it and it would have healed. I was misdiagnosed for 6 months, and was given exercises that actually made it worse! It eventually tore completely through!

I pray you don't have this issue!

My knee issues were my worst symptom. I know what you mean about the "pressure". Mine got so bad I could hardly stand or walk. I'm much better now after 2 months of antibiotics. Take it easy, protect them, light stretching is good, also gentle massage. Turmeric is good for the inflammation. Don't worry the knees get better!!

It's likely inflammation of the synovial membrane where the spirochetes like to hang out, it can cause a lot of pain, crouching down, kneeling on the floor, and walking up stairs. My knees click with each step on stairs so loud other people can hear it.

Hmm, ya my knees already cracked before I got this lyme infection.

They actually feel better today, they are my only symptom I have now while on the tinidazole. I think the minocycline + tinidazole combination might be one of the best combos to treat this, I'm also on Japanese Knotweed. I'm adding in plaquenil soon. So I'm hoping the minocycline + tinidazole + japanese knotweed + plaqueinil will clear this out of me. Or at least cripple the infection so my immune system can learn about this bacteria.

Well I have limited experience with this illness, but I do somehow feel much better today. And the knees, it just feels like a minor pressure now, not really that painful. I can walk with ease so I shouldn't complain too much.

I guess I was just concerned if the medication tinidazole and minocycline would be getting into the knee tissue. But apparently they are supposed to get into the knees better than a lot of other medications can.

I know the knees doesn't exactly have a mesh of capillaries in the joint, it's fluid there. If it were capillaries they would all burst when you move your knees. So I was concerned that the antibiotic wouldn't get into that synovial fluid.

Well penetrating the synovial membrane matters, not just the fluid. The membrane once atrophied from this would need replacing.
