Rheumatology doctor in Long Island

Don't know of one, but you might ask your PCP (or whoever is treating you) to recommend one, then ask them if they wouldn't mind going that extra step and call for you. In my experience, doctor to doctor phone calls = earlier appointment.
I am in Suffolk (ground zero for Lyme) and will ask around if anyone knows a good Rheumatology doc. Curious, is the Rheum doc needed for Lyme? I know of a good PCP and Lyme doc(although PCP is out here and Lyme doc not too local. But if u r willing to travel...

There is a LLMD just over the port Jeff ferry. He will look at your test results as well your clinical symptoms and tell you. I tested positive on only 3 IgG bands on the first Western Blot, but based on clinical findings he diagnosed me as + for Lyme.

There is a Dr R a bit further east on the island but he is not accepting new patients for Lyme (or so I've been told)
Avoid Stony Brook at all costs. They closed their Lyme clinic as did most of the places on Long Island. Apparently they don't believe in longer term antibiotics, and basically anyone with chronic Lyme is led to believe they have MS (again this is what I have been told). However, if you need a spinal tap, I was given the name of a very good neurologist at Stony Brook that does that procedure.

Email me if you want the name of the LLMD in Connecticut. I also have a PCP in Ronkonkoma who Is starting to become a believer in chronic Lyme in patients who don't always test positive on all CDC bands on the Western Blot. I can't post names here but feel free to email me.

I too am seeing Dr S next week. I am bringing all my questions with me this time. I don't know how he will be answering them, I've only been there once.
I'm sorry, I mentioned the ferry in Port Jeff in reference to Dr. S, and did not mean to imply there was a doctor in Port Jeff. How I wish though!!
Regarding Dr. H, I have read the reviews online and they were not favorable. Arghhhhh....
