Hey Roxie, you can do this. Try not to stress, it gets the stomach all upset!
Here are some things I've learned about helping the stomach cope with the antibiotics:
Like Chapelle, I eat, let it settle, take the meds and then top it off with a little more food to hold it down.
I have taken to sitting in a slightly reclined position for half an hour after taking my meds. A lot of the antibiotics say to stay upright, but I have found any jostling around makes the nausea start up and then you have all day. And don't lie down!
When you first start the meds, if they are twice a day, actually take it twelve hours apart. If they are three times a day, eight hours apart. That means getting up in the night, but it really helps to spread it out like that. Over time you can bunch them into regular waking hours.
If you are taking more than one antibiotic, separate them by at least half an hour.
Take your probiotics two hours after every dose of antibiotics. Rotate your probiotic types and use any other kind of product that helps gut flora: kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut and the like.
The yeast is probably going to be controlled by the anti-fungals, but remember that AZO yeast, grapefruit seed extract, and pau d'arco can all help.
Good luck!
