LLMD in NC methods--a bit of a vent

My NC LLMD clinic is fine, I think, but I am so taxed by their procedures in the office.

Primarily, I'm surprised at the lack of organization when the doc and his PA email me a 9-pg document outlining a new phase of treatment. The PA wrote out 9 pages of paragraphs to explain a very complicated pulsing treatment involving a dozen herbs/meds. I spent 2 whole afternoons, pushing through the brain fog, to put all her sentences into a spreadsheet--duh! I am stumped why this clinic doesn't use spreadsheets!! If this PA HAD used a spreadsheet, she would've realized that what she described as a 7-wk protocol was truly a 16-wk protocol. Oh, my.

In the befuddled state that I am in at times, I'm so frustrated that the info I get from this clinic is not always accurate, consistent, complete or clear. So, be warned. This clinic is in Raleigh.

If I wanted a job, I'd organized all my info and take it back to the clinic to show them what would be helpful to their patients. Honestly, HOW can people who are battling severe thinking issues even comprehend their instructions at all?

Ok. Taking a deep breath now and going outside to find peace.

I'm in NC, and I've heard some not so good things about him. He overprescribes, for one thing. He gives his patients huge numbers of supplements and medications, and goodness knows what such a mishmash of things does to your body.

His PA, apparently, is pretty awful, though there might be more than one.

One of his patients gave Lyme Disease a bad name because he ended up in the Duke hospital with severe complications from having been over medicated.

I have a friend who sees him, and when she tells me all the stuff he's put her on, I can barely believe it.

She was also confused by the printed regimen he gave her.

However, she continues to see him.

I've heard this from a bunch of different sources.

Also, he uses IVs, but not the standard one, Rocephin, at least in my friend's case.

I asked my LLMD about him again, since it's kind of a drag to fly to New York, and he very politely suggested I not go (to the NC one).

And he's more expensive than anyone else I've heard of.

I do appreciate your perspective. This clinic is 45 minutes from my house, so I was hoping that they'd work out for me. My other option is in DC.

Part of me is keenly disappointed in this clinic, but part of me has invested 4 months of working with them and learning their method. Sigh. I'm torn.

I'm also peeved about the expense! I've used up my HSA (health savings account), and I just found out my insurance (BCBS) won't consider this clinic's fees toward my deductible. This translates to paying out of pocket for everything.

But these are good things to know about others' experience at this Raleigh clinic. I'll discuss things with my husband and see what he says.

Kinda feeling the weight of how hard it is to get well….
