hello I'm Robyn
I'm 51 years old, been healthy my whole life, not a broken bone, severe illness or surgeries. Unlike most people I don't spend a lot of time outdoors.
I honestly don't know when I was bitten or when symptoms started, or even what symptoms are actually symptoms. If periodic anxiety attacks or irritable bowel were my first symptoms, then that was a couple of decades ago. Mild intermittent joint pain in hands and feet probably started about
5 years ago.
Over the past few months all symptoms reared up like they were on steroids. Had a lower back issue that took me out for a few days a year ago, an anxiety attack for the first time in about
8 years that came out of nowhere, severe digestive issues that sent me in for a colonoscopy and joint pain in arms/hands legs/feet.
I needed a new Dr, hadn't been to one in about
3 years, so I randomly found a practice in northern, VA that accepted my insurance and went in for a physical. When she said she was going to test me for Lyme, I thought 'seriously? no way.' And was diagnosed.
I am 10 days in and suffering through 1000 mg Ceftin a day and tons of vitamins including probiotics. I can feel how strong the Ceftin is, and I believe I am probably herxing. I can basically hear the bacteria screaming while they put up a fight.
Glad to find you all here and happy to provide the Dr's info if wanted. Her nurse was just diagnosed with Lyme too.
