I just want to introduce myself. For the last year or so, I've had quite a few odd health problems and wasn't sure where to turn. I hadn't ever considered Lyme until I recently went to a new doctor, who ran a bunch of blood tests, including Western Blot, which came up negative, and CD57, which was very low at 16. Based on that, he started treating me for Lyme with herbs (MC-BB-1) and plaquenil. I've had quite a few Herx symptoms since then, but nothing terrible. I'm feeling pretty encouraged, as I've noticed I've been having more moments of clear mindedness, and I don't get cold as easily as before.
I don't really have any idea when I contracted Lyme. My symptoms really became troublesome after I suffered a couple of miscarriages. I believe that I already had Lyme and that the pregnancies probably put some stress on my immune system. The more I learn about
Lyme, the more I realize that I've had some symptoms for many years. This makes me concerned about
my son, who is nearly 3. I know it's possible that he could have congenital Lyme. Are there any symptoms that children with congenital Lyme first exhibit? By and large, he is a happy and healthy little boy. On the other hand, he tends to tire easily, and he occasionally makes some vague complaints that "something hurts." It's hard for me to judge whether this is normal, or whether I need to pursue some testing for him.
