Hello all!
This forum has been incredibly resourceful and a source of strength and comfort through this journey.
I cannot thank you all enough!
I just received the results from all of my blood work today.
I was tested through IGeneX and also Galaxy Labs for Bartonella.
I did the full panel of Lyme and all of the co-infection testing available through IGeneX.
My results came back negative for everything but Ehrlichia...
-I had positive IgG Western Blot bands 31 kDa and 41 kDa.
-A 40 on the Bartonella henselae IgG - indicates may or may not have active infection.
-And the 40 on Ehrlichiosis (HME) IgM. Which indicates an active infection of Ehrlichia.
My doctor explained that I probably had active Bartonella at one point, but because everything else was negative (including all the Galaxy Bartonella) that I was probably not actively infected.
She also said that I don't have Lyme disease and only have Ehrlichiosis (probably from a Lone Star Tick?).
From the countless hours of research I have done, I am wondering if this is possible?
I know a co-infection would certainly be rare without an actual Lyme infection?
I was put on 100 mg of Doxy 2x a day. I took the first dose today and felt a bit of a herx already...
Must be killing something, right??
Possibly going to do the Lee Cowden for Ehrlichia as well.
I was wondering if anyone else has had similar results, experiences, or has treated Ehrlichia successfully.
Any advice, thoughts, wisdom, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
