tindamax?

I'm pulsing Tindamax--two days on, five days off. This is my third week. I haven't noticed anything--positive or negative--about taking it.

I have been taking 1 gram daily. It knocked out mostly all of the Lyme germs but I've been doing this for 2 months now and to be honest I'm getting paranoid of getting cancer now. It is genotoxic so just consider that as the risk of this medication.

My LLMD told me not to worry about it because concentrations are apparently low. But I believe it does cause mutations, even for germ cells. It's too bad, this is among the most effective medication to use for Lyme too. But what else can we do?

Well... You might not get cancer or you could get mutations in your genetics that might make the proteins a little different or enzymes work differently. Sometimes they are harmless mutations, sometimes they can cause a concern but how is anyone to tell they might just feel differently.

I will say tinidazole has worked absolutely amazingly for me... But it has it's downside... Mutations or worst case cancer. Maybe on the "off days" some of the damage can be repaired. But I wonder what the best pulse for on and off days is?

You'll know the Lyme germs are knocked out because at first you will herx, and then you will get a huge reduction in your symptoms. You make good gains pretty quickly with tinidazole there is no doubt about that.

I started taking Tindamax a year ago, working up to 500mg twice a day.

It has been very effective. The herxing was pretty violent but now I am feeling really very well -- 98% well, in fact. I should be up to 100% by my next appointment in 7 weeks.

It was literally hard to stomach at first. I had a lot of trouble with nausea and vomiting. I cut the pills in pieces (dose of about 125 g) and skipped doses in order to work up slowly. And I took the doses a full 12 hours apart, to help with the stomach problems and I always take it with food.

My LLMD is doing both herbal and antibiotics...Thanks for the input. It sounds like I'm starting on a pretty low dose compared to most. Hopefully it will be good...

Pearl - it's a gamble we just hope to do what is best for our treatment.

The tinidazole worked well for me but i still feel part of it is left... But I got a new issue which is tinidazole toxicity.

For a full body infection, this is so hard to treat. The little bacteria are so small and our bodies are so big... They could be anywhere really.

I think I'm going to stop the tinidazole for a few weeks and then do a 2 week non stop pulse. I hope to knock it out by doing that.
