Just saw my LLMD and I told him about the memory issues I have
that are getting worse. He said that is not brain fog which is mild and air headed stuff. So I will see a different dr to learn better coping skills for my mental health. And I am waiting to get an appt. at the Columbia Univ. Hospital LD Ctr. for a second opinion. (In NY but I think it's worth the $ to check under every rock)

I thought abx would be the cure all--I am lazy-- but I need to put more work into all of this tx.

So, is the doc saying it's from Lyme...or not?

So he ignored the fact that you're having memory problems? If so, that's not right. Hopefully you'll get more help from the 2nd doctor.

Truer words were never spoken. I would not play down the memory symptoms either. Nothing wrong with coping skills, but better to get to the root of the issue.

That is crazy! You can have severe memory problems and brain fog from Lyme! You definitely need another LLMD. In the meantime try to detox as much as you can. The toxins will cause you to lose memory and will damage your nerves.

The LLMD said that 'memory fog' is a much milder thing not the where are my coffee cups kept or what is my grand-kids name kind of stuff or what did I just say?!!

But I thought it could very much be from the LD from what I have read here on the forum. And if it causes so much body trouble, then why not the brain? So I think he is wrong...

I am going to be checking on the hospital in NY that I wrote about above--that has the LD Center. And I will keep this LLMD for now. He is better than nothing--ughhhh!

You poor thing! I really pray you get a better doctor. If he does not believe Lyme can cause brain fog then he is useless. But as you said, better than nothing. Sorry you are going through this! I am not sure how successful you will be with a dr. at a hospital. Mainstream medicine does not treat Lyme. You might want to look around for an integrative dr, alternative dr, or a naturopath who treats LD. Good luck!

I see oxidative damage from free radicals as missing letters as I'm typing and just can't remember things that I usually would have remembered.

Well, I sure hope Lyme is causing my memory issues, and general lack of my usual cognitive abilities.

My husband and I have been watching Under Our Skin video in parts the past few days...and finished it last night.

One man who, if I remember correctly (not an easy task these days), was treated for 8 years...he was undertreated after seeing the tick bite, and the rash. He had to retire from his job as a park ranger because of cognitive issues. He was driving one day (I think to or from work) and got lost. He forgot how to get there.

I have read on several websites that memory issues is a symptom of Lyme disease.

My husband said to me that my memory, cognitive issues is troubling him the most. He is used to me being one step ahead of him...and now I'm often looking at him with this dumb, blank look on my face.

I agree Sueg - you need a new doc.
