Is there an easy to understand list of co infections and symptoms and how to test for them? I get I have Lymes and am doing Cowden but wondering how in the world I can figure this out without a doctor.

Well I will help you out:

Lyme- migrating joint pain, vibration sensations, neurological issues, muscle nerve contractions, muscle spasms, brain fog,

Bartonella- burning feeling, neuropathic pain, insomnia, contestant anxiety

Babesia- air hunger, night sweats

Erlichia/anaplasma- sick, low white blood cell count, much sicker.

You really should see a Lyme Literate health professional. I have 2 and still can't get over this disease...

Thanks. I should. But I can't. Not possible right now. Going to do my best on my own. The only symptom I have is joint pain. Thanks for repky... Will do some searching on testing I guess

All you have is joint pain? Lucky. Sounds like no co-infections fir you. The banderol and samento are great Cowden herbs for lyme.

Good question! I've been fighting Lyme for over 2 years and tested positive for Bartonella in February. Your description of Bartonella is to a T! The thing is that I also have air hunger and terrible night sweats. Can Lyme and Bartonella cause that or do you think I also have Babesia? I haven't tested positive for it but haven't tested CDC positive for Lyme either.

Hi inspired... To that I will say yes and no.

Generally what I have posted is pretty much a generalized common symptom list that all Doctors report. There are some finer details that different Doctors use.

Sometimes Lyme and Bart infection could cause spontaneous daily or night sweats. I had them only twice but that was months ago.

However if you are getting terrible night sweats daily, and bad air hunger. I am going to say mostly all Lyme Literate Doctors will diagnose you clinically with babesia.

Is it true that when you treat Lyme, often you will also be treating Bartonella and other co-infections at the same time with the same abx....but Babesia is the one that needs the anti-malarial?

There are a few drugs that can cross over.

For example Zithromax happens to cross over between all 3 infections, I'm not sure about biaxin. Septra DS crosses over between bartonella and babesia.

Yes the anti-malarial drugs are usually needed for babesia.

Thanks Lymepickle! Yeah, I do wake up soaked every day. The back of my head is wet pretty much at all times. I had horrible air hunger in the beginning but its not as severe now after close to 2 years on antibiotics. The sweats seem to have gotten worse rather than better.... :/

How do you know if the night sweats aren't related to hormones? (obviously if you are a man this doesn't qualify :) ) or if they aren't driven by adrenaline responses and peak in the night? Yeas joint pain is my biggest issue. Sometimes around the time of cycle my memory gets foggy and I am irritable but that passes when cycle passes. Back pain goes away too.
