I was negative with.58 reading. I read a blog by a lyme doc who felt there shouldn't be any detection. Am I pulling at straws? Just want clear diagnosis

Anybody? Could really use help on this. As this is currently the only thing I have to work with.

Mine was 1.91, so it was positive, but most docs don't pay that much attention to it, unfortunately. HOWEVER the fact that it was for-sure positive was reason enough that it had to be reported to the state health department as a case of Lyme in our state.

Thanks for your response. I saw a lot of research that shows this to be very specific for lyme and has virtually no cross reactivity. The fact that there is any reading is indicative of lyme.

No problem! And you're exactly right--same principle as saying someone's "a little pregnant." Not possible--if it even shows a faint positive, you're pregnant--likewise, in my mind, if you show up with any reading on a Lyme-specific test, you've got Lyme. Plus, the spirochetes are very evasive and may show up strongly on a test one day and the next be nonexistent. Alas, the problems with Lyme testing continue!
