How much does the average LLMD charge?

I have read that they charge anything from a pint at the bar to $500 for a brief telephone consultation.

I'm guessing it's somewhere in between.

I think the initial consultation average is probably about $400 with followup visits about $100. You can't put a price on your health and an LLMD is the one to get you back to living a normal life again.

It really varies a lot - partly depending on where you live. As Springsjean said though, you can't put a price on health, and living with these infections isn't an option, so it's best to just think of it as an investment in your health.

I say average is between $500 for a respectable LLMD, to $1500 plus for top names on east and west coasts for the first visit.

$200 to $500 for shorter, 1/2 hour follow-ups

less for phone consults

My doctor in CT charges 875 for first visit and 400 for follow ups.

if you find a GP that is lyme literate and accepts your health insurance, you just pay your copay...and any deductibles, etc...

Somewhere I read that an LLMD will take Medicare, but you usually have to file it yourself. Does anyone here have their bills paid by medicare?

My healthcare covers ER visits only so it's as basic as you can get. We have already had to choose between renting a home or paying for medical costs and medication. We chose the medicine (Cowden Protocol) -with other bills an LLMD is completely out of our price range. We are already homeless because of this disease. It can't take anything else from us except my life and it feels like it wants that too.

I can't afford to live but what else can I do? I live in an obscure corner of the building my hubby works in, I don't even have a window. I'm surprised I haven't gone insane.

My dr was $250 for first visit + 200 for igenex test. Then afterwards it was $120/visit. I had to call around though. I probably called 5 or 6 doctors. He was the most affordable even though it was quite a drive.
